Daily Spirit & Word 585: The Man Of Macedonia Beckons
The Man of Macedonia:
Fantastic Friday: Yesterday was awesome, because in the morning at 8.30am I met up with two other Pastors from West Norwood in a Cafe for breakfast and later for prayer. Why was that so amazing? It was because just after we’d greeted one another I said, “I’ve been reading about the Holy Spirit and how sometimes He tells us “NO!”, then about the vision of the ‘Man of Macedonia’, it was what I’d been reading in Acts. Well just as I was explaining, Dennis said, “WOW, that’s what we were just talking about in our prayer meeting less than an hour ago” then Peter chipped in, “I was reading about that too last night” It’s amazing how three Church leaders were all reading the same thing from God’s Word and, had the feeling that the Holy Spirit was saying the same things to us: Sometimes God says “NO!” or “Stop!” or “Don’t go”, but He always seems to reveal where He wants us to go.
Acts 16:6-10 “Paul and his companions travelled throughout the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been kept by the Holy Spirit from preaching the word in the province of Asia.
7 When they came to the border of Mysia, they tried to enter Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus would not allow them to.
8 So they passed by Mysia and went down to Troas.
9 During the night Paul had a vision of a man of Macedonia standing and begging him, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.”
10 After Paul had seen the vision, we got ready at once to leave for Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them.”
I’m preaching upon Acts 16 tomorrow, but isn’t it brilliant when the Lord brings us together and opens up His Word in such a wonderful way? They couldn’t go to Asia or Mysia or Bithynia, but from Troas they had the vision; from the Man of Macedonia, to take the Gospel to Europe.
Could it be that The Man of Macedonia is Beckoning Again?
I wonder, even now, what it is that the Lord is saying to us here in West Norwood?
With all that’s happening in Syria, Greece and Macedonia: Countless thousands of souls passing through on their way to Germany, could it be that He wants us to go to Macedonia to preach the Gospel again?
How those poor people, coming from an Islamic terror need to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ and the Freedom that being a member of His Kingdom brings.
I heard yesterday about a man who was recently converted by a dream that he had and a mini-revival has broken out in Macedonia as a result, because he was a man with influence and many listened to him when he declared his conversion to Christ.
Gathering together for fellowship and prayer and to share God’s Word together will keep you strong.
Listen my friends, God still speaks today and He’ll guide us clearly wherever He wants us to go and proclaim Christ. Be free in the Love of God, let His Spirit flow within you.
