Foolishness of D.I.Y. Faith

Boast ONLY in the Cross of Jesus Christ

Daily Spirit & Word: 698: Boast Only About Jesus.

What a DAY of D.I.Y. Taught me.

Good morning my friends, I had a wonderful day-off yesterday. Over at my daughter’s house, I was put to work on DIY. I don’t know how you feel about DIY, but I don’t relish the thought. However once I get started it’s quite good fun. Of course I was shadowed by my two year old grandson, Karamoko. He had his tools all ready too, but once he saw my new electric screwdriver, he wanted to play with that. I’ve never seen a kid so enthusiastic about helping with DIY, he loves toolboxes, tools, carrying, lifting heavy things and putting screws in. He also loves to watch “Bob the Builder”… He’s going to be absolutely brilliant at DIY one day soon. He helped me; put up a curtain rail, take apart a huge table, put together a new table, take apart his old cot and put together his brand new big-boy’s bed. He learned about taking care of the small packages of screws, following instructions, being careful with sharp things and how two are better than one.

DIY: Means “Do It Yourself”… As is my weakness or strength, I followed a rabbit trail yesterday and again this morning. The rabbit trail I’m talking about is Bible Study. Yesterday I wrote about us not being able to pull-the-wool over God’s eyes and how “God cannot be mocked” from Galatians 6. Well, I kept on reading and this little verse jumped out at me. It’s a bit like Karamoko going through the toolbox and finding an interesting item that he’s never seen before. You know what question he always asks don’t you? “What’s this Papa?” next “What’s it for Papa?”… Then I’ll have to say, “Here Moko, let me show you”…

Here’s what the LORD gave me to share from His Toolbox with you today.

Galatians 6:14 (NIV) “May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.”

“May I never boast”: Truth is we all LOVE boasting. We long for others to know how brilliant we are, don’t we? Paul is not talking about the normal things in life here, he’s talking about boasting about how morally good he is or isn’t. The young Church in Galatia had been infested with Judaizers, Christians who wanted to keep the Jewish ceremonial laws and to belong to Christ at the same time. They were known for their boasting about it too and there was a real danger that some of the believers, who were young Christians, might be influenced to emulate their folly. That why Paul exclaimed, “Oh foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you?” Galatians 3:1.

NOTE: Judaizers is a term for Christians who insist that their co-religionists should follow the Law of Moses as well as being committed to Jesus Christ.

Their thinking was that because they kept the Jewish laws, they were like a kind of elevated Christian, a super Christian, better than ordinary Christians who merely trusted in the Grace, Mercy and Love of Jesus Christ. They boasted about the fact of how ‘religious’ they were and how observant of Jewish customs, traditions and laws.

You know my friends, religiosity counts for NOTHING in practical Christianity. It’s foolish to try and be ‘more’ religious. If you want to be a better Christian, and to be honest we all need to be better at following Jesus, don’t get more religious, get closer to Christ Himself.

That verse from; Galatians 6:14 (NIV) “May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.” reminded me of another similar teaching the LORD has already given to us.

Jeremiah 9:23-25 (NIV)
23  This is what the LORD says: “Let not the wise man boast of his wisdom or the strong man boast of his strength or the rich man boast of his riches, 24  but let him who boasts boast about this: that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,” declares the LORD.
25  “The days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when I will punish all who are circumcised only in the flesh—

WOWzer! Did you know that verse from the Lord’s toolbox? Now we can see what Paul was talking about can’t we? No wonder he declared: Galatians 6:14 (NIV) “May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.”

You see my friends, Paul had been very ‘religious’ and he now counts all his religious knowledge, experience and understanding as rubbish, dross, empty and foolishness in comparison with knowing Christ Jesus as His Lord. That’s why he only wanted to boast about the Cross of Jesus. Not only that but, he couldn’t boast about Himself or his religious observance, because it didn’t bring him closer to God, it pulled him further and further away from God. Why? Because religion is DIY faith in Jesus and His Cross means “He did it for me”… It’s not our goodness that we’re trusting in, but the goodness of Jesus Christ.

Here’s is Paul’s argument about this in full, this is what he said to the young Christians in Philippi who were being troubled by Judaizers too.

Philippians 3:1-11 (NIV)
1 Finally, my brothers, rejoice in the Lord! It is no trouble for me to write the same things to you again, and it is a safeguard for you.
2  Watch out for those dogs, those men who do evil, those mutilators of the flesh.
3  For it is we who are the circumcision, we who worship by the Spirit of God, who glory in Christ Jesus, and who put no confidence in the flesh— 4  though I myself have reasons for such confidence. If anyone else thinks he has reasons to put confidence in the flesh, I have more: 5  circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; in regard to the law, a Pharisee; 6  as for zeal, persecuting the church; as for legalistic righteousness, faultless.
7  But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ.
8  What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ 9  and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith. 10  I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, 11  and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead.

Question: Why would anyone who’s been saved by God’s Grace, Mercy and Kindness go back to being religious? Answer: They wouldn’t, couldn’t, but only FALSE Converts would think there is anything in being ‘religious’. Once you KNOW Jesus personally, it’s like being an unfaithful husband or wife to try ‘religion’ again to make you righteous in God’s sight. It’s DIY religion.

Going back to Judaism or the Law of Moses is a DIFFERENT faith entirely from that of following the Lord Jesus Christ. It’s a DIY religion, you will be depending upon your own goodness not Christ’s. The reason it’s foolishness is because NO ONE, nobody will be declared righteous by observing the LAW. Romans 3:20. Because we all fall short, we all break God’s law and when we do, we’re contaminated with SIN.

So it’s no wonder Paul and the LORD got so upset when the Galatians, Philippians and many others began to practice ‘religiosity’ all over again.

Empty ritualistic religion will never save anyone, it’s a DIY faith.

  • Let’s be very careful that we boast ONLY in the Cross of Christ.
  • Let’s be JOY filled as we remind others that we’re NOT GOOD, because we’ve broken God’s Laws.
  • Let’s be EXCITED by the fact that Jesus alone is GOOD and He is the only way for mankind to be SAVED.

Galatians 6:14 (NIV) “May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.”

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I can see that there are times when I think I’m better than others at keeping the faith, help me always only to boast in the Cross of Jesus, His goodness, His love, His strength and the fact that I’m only saved by Your Grace, kindness and goodness and that You’ve drawn me to Yourself so that I can know You, the true and living God. Forgive me Lord for the times when I’ve been tempted to DIY my faith instead of relying upon the Holy Spirit to keep me from falling. Amen! Thank you so much for practical D.I.Y for when we’re doing the ordinary things in life, we can learn so much about the Spiritual aspects of life with You. Amen!

Have an awesome weekend with Jesus my friends.

You can learn a lot from grand-kids and DIY can’t you 🙂

Keep Going In The Spirit

Sowing and Reaping, God cannot be mocked

Daily Spirit & Word: 697:

Keep Going In The Spirit

Sowing and Reaping.

Galatians 6:7-10 (NIV)
7  Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.
8  The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.
9  Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
10  Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
Good morning my friends, well what a stormy day yesterday was, I wasn’t looking forward to going out onto the streets sharing the Good News, it was cold and dark and wintry weather. However, we had a good team gathered to go, six of us from St Luke’s, so we split-up into twos; David and Sherrie, Ben and Gemma and Judy and me; after watching the newest video from “A New Reformation”, we were all fired-up to see the Lord at work in people’s lives. You know something, when you go in faith, you will not be disappointed my friends, we had some truly amazing encounters in sharing the Gospel and chatting with people about God’s Kingdom.
When we got back to the Parish Office afterwards and we all shared what happened, we saw that the Lord was with us. I love hearing from others how the Lord has used them and what He does is fantastically good. Even after years of sharing the Gospel I’m always encouraged and refreshed by how faithful Jesus Christ is to His Word.
When we look at those verses above from Galatians, you can be sure that God is serious; “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man (or woman) reaps what he sows”… Galatians 6:7. Now that’s a sobering verse from God’s Word.
Jesus gave us similar teaching in so many different ways: Sowing and Reaping.
In the Old Testament we see this principle illustrated in the lives of ancient forefathers and peoples.

 Jacob: Genesis 27-31.

Did you know that Jacob was a trickster: He pulled a fast-one on his older brother and father. He covered himself in animal hair to look, smell and feel like his older brother. He did so because his father Isaac was getting old and blind and Jacob wanted the blessing due to his older brother. You know the story, but he eventually succeeded and ran away to avoid a clash with his angry brother. REAPING WHAT YOU SOW: Jacob really did get blessed by God, but he also REAPED. He fell in love with Rachel and wanted to marry her. Rachel’s dad made Jacob work for seven years before he would be able to marry her. After those seven long years, he was looking forward to his wedding night. After all the ceremony was over, he removed the veil and lo and behold, he’d not married Rachel, but Leah her older sister. (You can read all about Jacob in Genesis 27-31, you’ll see what a trickster he was and how he REAPED WHAT HE HAD SOWN).
Isn’t that amazing? You reap what you sow. He tricked his father and brother, now his father-in-law had tricked him. He was the younger brother and he tricked his older brother. He wanted the younger sister Rachel, but was tricked into marrying the older sister Leah. You reap what you sow.
  • When you plant tomatoes (as I’m about to do in the next few days), you’ll reap little tomatoes.
  • When you plant potatoes, you’ll not get grapes at the harvest time, but little potatoes.
  • You reap what you sow.
Think Seriously About Mocking God: If we’re sowing to our FLESH then watch out.
Leviticus 26:14-20 (NIV)
14  ” ‘But if you will not listen to me and carry out all these commands,
15  and if you reject my decrees and abhor my laws and fail to carry out all my commands and so violate my covenant,
16  then I will do this to you: I will bring upon you sudden terror, wasting diseases and fever that will destroy your sight and drain away your life. You will plant seed in vain, because your enemies will eat it.
17  I will set my face against you so that you will be defeated by your enemies; those who hate you will rule over you, and you will flee even when no-one is pursuing you.
18  ” ‘If after all this you will not listen to me, I will punish you for your sins seven times over.
19  I will break down your stubborn pride and make the sky above you like iron and the ground beneath you like bronze.
20  Your strength will be spent in vain, because your soil will not yield its crops, nor will the trees of the land yield their fruit.

Time Doesn’t Matter:

Did you know that they’ve found wheat seeds in the ancient Egyptian Tombs, they planted those 3000 year old seeds, guess what they got at harvest time? Wheat! Those seeds did not forget what they were after all those years in the tomb. My friends, God keeps a perfect record, and at the judgement throne of Jesus Christ, every believer will REAP WHAT THEY HAVE SOWN. God cannot be mocked.
Galatians 6:8  “The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.”
If we’ve sown to our flesh, then from that flesh we shall reap corruption (diseases and eventually premature death).
If we’ve sown to the Holy Spirit, then we shall reap everlasting life.
A man or woman REAPS WHAT THEY HAVE SOWN.
God cannot be mocked. So many believers are convinced that God will just ‘wink’ at their sins because they’ve repented and put their trust in Jesus Christ. They’ll say, “Jesus died upon the Cross for my sins, past, present and future, so I’m forgiven”… That’s right my friends, you have been forgiven, you are blessed with the gift of eternal life, but God wants to reward us for the good things we’ve done whilst in the body: but His rewards also include REAPING what we have SOWN. If we sow to the fleshly sinful nature, then God will reward us in kind. God cannot be mocked: He will not just wink at your sinful choices on the day when you come face to face with Jesus Christ. Remember God’s chosen, blessed and elected people of old: Jacob, Joseph, King David and Solomon… They were all God’s Chosen and Anointed: but they ALL, every single one of them, REAPED what they had sown to their SINFUL natures. God cannot be mocked.
If ever there was a sobering verse in the Bible it’s this one for every truly born again believer: “God cannot be mocked”… We can’t pull-the-wool over God’s eyes. We can’t trick Him. We can’t hide it from Him. He sees and Knows EVERYTHING we do.
Don’t forget those amazing words of encouragement too: Galatians 6:9 “9  Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. “
In Britain, we are one of the most watched nations on earth today: CCTV Cameras can see our every move. We walk up the street and little cameras are watching us. We go on a train or tube, or bus, there are little cameras filming us. CCTV is everywhere.
God wants us to KNOW that we are being observed from Heaven too.
Hebrews 12:1-6 (NIV)
1  Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.
2  Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
3  Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
4  In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood.
5  And you have forgotten that word of encouragement that addresses you as sons: “My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, 6  because the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son.”
We’re reminded that we are being watched from Heaven: God disciplines us now, He doesn’t want us to loose our rewards in Heaven, but wants to bless us with so many great and wonderful things, but God cannot be mocked. You will REAP what you have SOWN.
I love the Message Paraphrase of these verses from Galatians:
Galatians 6:7-10 (MSG)
7  Don’t be misled: No one makes a fool of God. What a person plants, he will harvest. The person who plants selfishness, ignoring the needs of others—ignoring God!— 8  harvests a crop of weeds. All he’ll have to show for his life is weeds! But the one who plants in response to God, letting God’s Spirit do the growth work in him, harvests a crop of real life, eternal life.
9  So let’s not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we don’t give up, or quit. 10  Right now, therefore, every time we get the chance, let us work for the benefit of all, starting with the people closest to us in the community of faith.

Response:

  • Repent and turn again to Jesus.
  • Confess your sins to Him now.
  • Seek the fullness of the Holy Spirit now.
  • God cannot be mocked, you will reap what you have sown.
  • Do it immediately.

Last night we met a young man who played in the worship team in his uncle’s church for years. He knew all about being “Born Again” but was waiting until the time was ‘right’ to get right with Jesus. Imagine that, in the WORSHIP TEAM for years, knowing the Gospel and just waiting until the time is right. He was too young to need Jesus, he thought. He was waiting. My friends, imagine what would have happened if that young man had waited and got knocked over by a bus, where would he be spending his Eternity? We need Jesus NOW. We can’t play at being ‘Church’. God cannot be mocked.

Then, If we sow to the spirit, then from the spirit we shall reap a wonderful harvest in God’s Kingdom. So don’t get weary in doing good my friends, especially to those who are from the household of faith, brothers and sisters in Jesus’ Kingdom Family.
Prayer: Oh Lord Jesus Christ, when I think of the times that I’ve chosen to feed my sinful nature, it fills me with great sadness. When I’ve chosen the flesh over the Spirit, I know that Heaven has been watching, the “Great Cloud of Witnesses” However, I know that when I turn to You in faith and true repentance, I’m forgiven, cleansed and renewed in Spirit. I know that You discipline those who come to You Lord. Help me today in my walk with You, I want to be full of Your Holy Spirit so that I can live the abundant holy life that You have called me for. I want to live in obedience to Your teachings Lord Jesus. Amen!!
It was so good going out last night to share the Gospel with folks on the streets, the LORD was with us then, He’s with us NOW. If you are a believer in Jesus, there’s not a moment in time that He’s not with you. You have been set-apart and sealed with God the Holy Spirit. LIVE like the Prince or Princess that you are. You are an Ambassador for Jesus in this world, let them see Jesus in you.
Don.
P.S. Please pray for the people we chatted with last night. We had brilliant conversations and shared the Gospel with: Ebeneezer, Craig, Ada and and Italian man called Carlos.  Pray also for all those that the other members of the team chatted with and the many who received Gospel tracts but were just too busy or in a rush to get home last night.

Sowing to the Spirit or the Flesh:

Paul puts it like this: For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption (6:8a). Every time we nurse a grudge, spread gossip, linger in bad company whose influence we cannot long resist, every time we watch or read pornographic materials, we are sowing seeds that will reap corruption in our fellowship with God, our families, and our witness.

But he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting (6:8b). What does it mean to sow to the Spirit? It means we allow the Spirit to do things that produce the fruit of the Spirit in our lives (5:22-23a).

When we sow to the Spirit, we also will reap life everlasting. The word everlasting refers not only to the duration of life but also the quality of life. Therefore, we can experience heaven here and now. How does Jesus express this fact in John 10:10b?

Jesus: He’s Coming Soon.

Every Eye Shall See Him: Jesus

Daily Spirit & Word: 680: Jesus: He’s Coming Soon.

After I came to know the LORD in 1984, there was a little praise song my church sang: “Soon and very soon, we are going to see the LORD”. My understanding of God’s Word was limited back then, so I was half expecting Jesus to come back during the week. It radically changed the way that I was living, because I wanted to be ready for Jesus. As the years have gone on, I look back and wonder, “Should I have been continuing with that same sense of expectation all along?” Of course the answer is “YES” for we don’t know the day or the hour. Then there’s the great question Jesus asks, “Will the Son of Man find faith on earth when He returns?”

Revelation 1:7 (NIV)
7  Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him. So shall it be! Amen.

Revelation is written to both encourage followers of Jesus and to warn those who’re slipping away from a genuine walk with Him. It’s also written and available to the enemies of Jesus as a stern and stark warning; “He’s Coming BACK AGAIN SOON.”

EVERY EYE SHALL SEE HIM:

This is a wonderful encouragement for the believers in the major towns mentioned in Revelation; the Seven Churches in Asia Minor, but also for you and me today. We’re going to see the LORD! At that time it was dangerous to be a believer in Jesus. John was exiled to Patmos, some of the other believers were being killed and put to death in horrific ways. But John wanted to encourage them in the walk with Christ and their commitment to the end.

Who’s going to see Jesus? “Every eye shall see Him”: Believers and non-believers alike. Even those who pierced Him: The Jews and Romans who put Christ to death will see Him. However it’s also those who are opposed to Christianity in every generation, it’s as if they are the ones who are piercing Him all over again. Remember what Jesus said to Saul (Paul) when He appeared to him on the road to Damascus:

Acts 9:3-5 (NIV)
3  As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him.
4  He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?”
5  “Who are you, Lord?” Saul asked. “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,” he replied.

“Why do you persecute me?” Paul was involved in killing Christians and hunting them down. There have been thousands who’ve been persecuted for their faith in Jesus. This text in Revelation today shows us, that one day they will mourn.

What will they do when they see Jesus returning on the clouds? They’ll “MOURN” All peoples on the Earth who don’t know Jesus Christ as LORD and Saviour or who’ve rejected the Gospel, will be grieving, mourning and wailing.

Do you know that there are TWO references in this one verse to Old Testament Prophesy. In his old age John, the Apostle and dearly loved Disciple of Jesus, was full of the Holy Spirit and steeped in the Old Testament Scriptures. He’d been given insight into a fuller understanding of their meaning, and by the Holy Spirit was able to APPLY those Scriptures to his own “Here and now”…

Two Old Testament References:

(Dan 7:13-14). The Son of Man Coming on Clouds.

Daniel 7:13-14 (NIV)
13  “In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence.
14  He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all peoples, nations and men of every language worshipped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.”

It is from that passage in Daniel there emerges the recurring picture of the Son of Man coming on the clouds (Mark 13:26; Mark 14:62; Matthew 24:30; Matthew 26:64). These are wonderful encouraging messages for every Christian, the unchanging truth that the day will come when Jesus Christ will be Lord of all and every eye shall see Him. It is that kind of hope that can keep you going through the toughest of trials on this earth. Imagine how John’s message would have been received at a time of great persecution of Christians. How much more is it and encouragement for us today as we see our own world rushing headlong into oblivion?

The Second OT reference is: “Mourning for the one they have pierced”

Zechariah 12:10 (NIV)
“And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son.”

One Day SOON: We are going to see the LORD! Hallelujah. Praise the Lord!

But on that day, every enemy of Christ; every Atheist, every false religions, every wayward non-religious person and every bitter-back-slider, even the hypocrite; will MOURN: Because they’ll suddenly discover how wrong they’ve been; they’ll mourn as one does the death of an infant as Zachariah tells us, that’s a terrible kind of grieving indeed.

Read this Revelation verse again and praise the Lord, because you know HIM who’s coming back soon.

Revelation 1:7 (NIV)
7  Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him. So shall it be! Amen.

No matter what your circumstances are today, this is encouragement to LIVE your life every day with the expectant hope He’s coming soon. Life will be much better for you if you do.

Sing; “Soon and very soon, we are going to see the Lord”.

Praying that you’ll have an awesome week, full of exciting adventures in the Holy Spirit with Jesus your Lord. Amen.

Don.

Prayer That Moves Mountains

Strong in prayer, faith, belief and not doubting,

Daily Spirit & Word, 624: Stop Your Wimpy Praying.

Prayer That Moves Mountains

Good morning my friends, at our worship team meeting on Friday, one of the group, during prayer, said, “Lord, forgive our wimpy praying”… Prayer that lacks power. Prayer that has no legs in it. Prayer that doesn’t expect answers. “Oh Lord, forgive our wimpy prayers”.

Thankfully, the Word of God has a lot to say about prayer and how to ensure our prayers are answered.

Matthew 21:22 “If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”

What does that verse above tell us?

  • That we can get anything we want? No!
  • That God is like a genie in the lamp, that we can rub and get all our wishes to come true? No!

Just like all the great memory verses in God’s Word, we must look at this verse in it’s context to understand what our Lord Jesus was saying.

Why is context important? Because, someone who prays, believing that he or she will get an answer to that prayer, and doesn’t get what he or she wants is going to be bitterly disappointed and may give up on prayer or the Lord very quickly.

Matthew 21:18-22
18 Early in the morning, as he (Jesus) was on his way back to the city, he was hungry.
19  Seeing a fig-tree by the road, he went up to it but found nothing on it except leaves. Then he said to it, “May you never bear fruit again!” Immediately the tree withered.
20  When the disciples saw this, they were amazed. “How did the fig-tree wither so quickly?” they asked.
21  Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig-tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done.
22  If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”

Jesus was hungry: He expected to be fed by a fig tree. He said to it (as if it had ears or a mind and will to understand) “May you never bear fruit again!” That fig tree withered instantly.

Then Jesus explained about faith and answered prayer: “If you have faith and don’t doubt and if you believe; then you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer”… The keys to answered prayer: faith, belief and not doubting.

Remember what Jesus said to Thomas? “Stop doubting and believe” (John 20:27)… After Jesus rose from the dead he appeared first to all the disciples apart from Thomas. Church historians record that Thomas went on to become the Apostle who travelled to India and established one of the oldest and longest surviving groups of Christians in the world. He obviously did stop doubting and believed.

The Cursing of the Fig Tree:

Why did Jesus curse the fig tree?

Most Bible commentators believe that this cursing of the fig tree is symbolic. I do believe that too, because the evidence from Scripture is compelling; the Fig Tree is Symbolic of the Nation of Israel.

When did Jesus curse the fig tree?

It happened a week before Passover, and was during the last few days of Jesus’ life. It was very early in the season for figs, but because figs grow before the leaves come, Jesus would have expected to find some figs on the tree. In the UK we normally only get one crop of figs, but in the right climate and growing conditions, people who grow figs can get three crops in a whole year from fig trees. When Jesus saw the leaves on the tree He expected to find fruit too.

What was happening around the time Jesus cursed the fig tree?

When Jesus arrived in Jerusalem, the people wanted to make Him King, but Jesus went to the Temple: What did He find there? Instead of pure religion it was a joke. People were buying and selling in the Temple. He got angry and turned over the tables and made a whip to drive people out of God’s House.

When he arrived he expected to find: PURE RELIGION: (to eat fruit from the fig tree).

  • The Fig Tree: Looked Good: (Had green leaves).
  • The Temple: Looked Good, had all the trappings of religion; Sacrifices, Robes, Magnificent Building.

However, just like the fig tree, the Temple was BARREN: Dead religion, faithless religiosity. Faithless religion is just as bad as pagan witchcraft. People performed their religious chants, followed religiously their duties, said the right prayers, thinking that because of the words and the way they are performed God is obliged to do their bidding. It’s just EMPTY and FAITHLESS religiosity. It was never meant to be what was said or how it was performed, pure religion was always meant to come for a heart that really wants to please God and from a people who wanted to live with God and in accordance with His will.

The Cursed Fig Tree: is a WARNING:

Not just to Israel, but to every follower of Jesus today: He’s looking for you to bear fruit in your daily walk with Him.

If you are not being fruitful, then your faith is as good a dead.

Repent or Perish:  Luke 13:1-9 (Repent or Perish).
1 Now there were some present at that time who told Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices.
2  Jesus answered, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans because they suffered this way?
3  I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.
4  Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them—do you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem?
5  I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.”
6  Then he told this parable: “A man had a fig-tree, planted in his vineyard, and he went to look for fruit on it, but did not find any. 7  So he said to the man who took care of the vineyard, ‘For three years now I’ve been coming to look for fruit on this fig-tree and haven’t found any. Cut it down! Why should it use up the soil?’
8  ” ‘Sir,’ the man replied, ‘leave it alone for one more year, and I’ll dig round it and fertilise it. 9  If it bears fruit next year, fine! If not, then cut it down.’ “

Matthew 3:7-12 Produce The Fruit Of True Repentance.
7  But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to where he was baptising, he said to them: “You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath?
8  Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.
9  And do not think you can say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham.
10  The axe is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.
11  “I baptise you with water for repentance. But after me will come one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry. He will baptise you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.
12  His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing-floor, gathering his wheat into the barn and burning up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”

Without FAITH it is impossible to please God.

How to get this ‘mountain moving’ faith.

Hebrews 11:6 “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”

Hebrews 11 is the great chapter on FAITH: It tells us about the faith of; Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Joshua, Rahab (the Prostitute).

The writer of Hebrews then goes onto explain: How he didn’t have the time to write about all the others who demonstrated great faith (but we have their stories in the Bible too).  Hebrews 11:32-34 “And what more shall I say? I do not have time to tell about Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel and the prophets, 33  who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and gained what was promised; who shut the mouths of lions, 34  quenched the fury of the flames, and escaped the edge of the sword; whose weakness was turned to strength; and who became powerful in battle and routed foreign armies.”

Answered Prayer: We Must BELIEVE and KNOW that God REWARDS those who earnestly seek Him. (Hebrews 11:6).

Without FAITH it is impossible to please God.

What was Jesus doing when He cursed the fig tree?

He was showing God’s displeasure when there is a lack of real FAITH in Israel. That Israel would one day be crushed (It was a few years later when Jerusalem was sacked by the Romans).

However, True faith will result in a fruitful life.

For the follower of Jesus we will be bearing much fruit in our daily walk with the Lord.

  • He’s looking for you to be fruitful.
  • He’s expecting you to be fruitful.
  • He wants you to be fruitful.

The fruit of the Holy Spirit is; love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

How’s your fruit doing?

If you are like me, like an ordinary human being, you’ll readily admit that there are areas in your life that you need to be more fruitful; more loving, kind, generous, faithful etc… Except if you are a Christian, then you are NOT like an ordinary human being, because you’ve got the Holy Spirit living within you. You’ve got the POWER of God in your soul. Your body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit (the dwelling place of God). Jesus is in you. Father God is in you. Heaven is in your heart. You are a member of God’s Kingdom Family. You are a Royal child of God. Heir to the Kingdom. Now, how’s your faith?

If Jesus was to walk up to you today, as He did that good looking fig tree, full of the promise of fruit, would He find FAITH alive and well within your soul?

If you don’t doubt, or stop doubting and believe; you can do anything as a follower of Jesus.

If you have faith, no mountain will be able to stand in your way.

How do we get more faith?

It comes by exercising the faith we’ve already got.

It’s the same as the muscles in your body, if you don’t do any exercise your muscles will deteriorate, you’ll get weaker and your bones will not stay together very well. Strong muscles are good for your whole body. Faith in every area of the Christian life needs to be exercised:

  • To be stronger: We need to practice the walk: Give generously; to people and especially to God. This shows we’re not trusting in money, but in God. We showing God and the world that we LOVE God more than money by giving it away generously. Once you start to give generously, your faith in the Lord will grow much stronger.
  • To be stronger: We need to practice the walk: BE MORE LOVING: Love the people God brings into your daily life. Be kind in the way that you talk to everybody. Being loving and kind is costly, but when you do it with determination and seeking God’s help and power to be more loving, then you’ll get much stronger in your faith and walk with Jesus.
  • To be stronger: We need to practice the walk: Stop gossiping and back-stabbing, work hard for your boss, share the Gospel as much as you can, give generously, go out of your way to help other people, speak up for the weak, those in need, the poor.

When you PRACTICE the FAITH you’ve already received, then your faith will grow much stronger day by day. You’ll learn to TRUST God more and you’ll expect much more to be done as your prayer life gets more sincere and expectant. As your intimacy with Father God grows ever closer, you’ll experience what divine dependency is like. You’ll bear MUCH fruit. God LOVES to give even more than you do. He’s longing to answer ALL your prayers, but you’ll never get a single prayer answered without FAITH and BELIEF. To stop your doubting, start living the way He’s revealed, empowered and called you to live. Be filled afresh today with God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (John 17:26).

If you are praying for something and not seeing any answers yet, start living the way He’s revealed in the Bible. Be the person that Jesus saved you to be: Full of faith and faithful to Him.

PRAYER: “Oh LORD, forgive our wimpy prayers, strengthen our faith, help us to bear fruit in our lives and our walk with You. Enable us by Your Holy Spirit to walk with You today Lord. Help us to see with Your eyes the potential for good all around us. Lord give us the ability to make the most of all the opportunities You are giving us today. Amen!”

Most probably, the first MOUNTAIN that you’ll see thrown into the sea is your wimpy prayers. Be strong in the LORD.

I’m hoping and praying that you’ll be closer to Jesus this week than last.

Not Hungry For Jesus?

Jesus can and will satisfy your deepest needs and desires

Daily Spirit & Word: 587:

NOT HUNGRY FOR JESUS?

The Root Causes of No Appetite For The Word of God or TIME with Jesus.

When God has promised: SATISFACTION GUARANTEED.

Isaiah 58:11 “The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.”

Good morning my friends, Have you ever tried to have a quiet time with Jesus and left feeling that you just hadn’t met with Him?

Or have you gotten out of bed early and determined to spend time with God in His Word only to finish that time feeling like you’ve not been fed?

What’s The Problem?

So many Christians know that they SHOULD be spending quality time with the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ, every single day, but so few do it regularly, they’re just NOT hungry for those times or for feasting upon God’s Word. Why? What’s the Problem?

Well my friends, steady your hearts, because the “REAL REASON” why MOST Christians DO NOT have consistent nourishing times with the LORD are; Lack of APPETITE. We’re just NOT hungering for it. And there are eye-opening reasons why.

Be Assured Of This: It’s NOT lack of Discipline: Because I know many good brothers ans sisters in Jesus who routinely get out of bed early, but who don’t get anything from it. So it’s NOT lack of Discipline.

However, there is a LACK OF APPETITE. There is NO HUNGER FOR GOD. My friends, we discipline ourselves to get up and read the Bible and Pray, but if we don’t have that necessary hunger for God, then it is because our affections have been drawn away to other loves. If we’re not getting fed by our time with the Saviour, then SOMETHING else has crept into our heart to become Number ONE, #1.

Here’s A Short List Of #1’s to Consider:

(there are many more possible candidates).

1) Coveting Craziness: The allure of THINGS: The things of this world are seductive and so easily pull our affection away from the LORD towards something that this world has to offer. We KNOW deep down in our hearts that we should not crave the things of this world, but somehow we’ve convinced ourselves, we talked ourselves into believing some adverts or something gets our attention.   (1 Timothy 6:10)

2) Sensual SEX: There I’ve said it 🙂 So many committed believers are bombarded with SEXUAL fantasies, so much so that they INDULGE in behaviour that they KNOW is simply WRONG for a follower of Jesus. They may not lead to actual sexual acts with another person, but they go places to indulge their fantasies: movies, the internet, magazines, books, the streets, parks etc…

It’s NOT easy to shake off that hunger for sexual gratification, but it’s POSSIBLE with Jesus and the POWER of the HOLY SPIRIT. (Genesis 6:1, 2, 5, 6; 2 Samuel 11:1-4; Job 31:7, 9; 2 Peter 2:14)

3) Sweating To Succeed: There’s a magnetic allure of winning the applauds of others, to look awesome in someone else’s eyes if we are just ‘SUCCESSFUL’ then we’ll be happy. We reason, “If I can just make a name for myself doing this …………. then I’ll be more than happy.”  (Ecclesiastes 2:4-11) There’s even a kind of ‘Christian’ success endeavour, being the ‘best’ Christian, but we’re NOT in competition with other believers, we’re all EQUAL in the eyes of the Lord, but being a ‘success’ in His eyes is often NOT the highest aim or focus on our agenda, but to look great in the eyes of others.

4) Aspiring For Approval: You know my friends, when we’re living for the approval of others, we’re NOT living to please the LORD. When we are seeking the approval of others we’re already wandering away from Jesus. (Matthew 22:16; Luke 16:15; Acts 5:29; Galatians 1:10; 1 Thessalonians 2:4). JESUS DID NOT LIVE FOR THE APPROVAL OF MEN, but only ever did what His Father told Him to do or say what His Father told Him to say. WHY? Because fulfilling God’s Mission on Earth was more important than His personal feelings or human desires. However, I’m certain that Jesus never had any human desires that were contrary to the will of the Father like we have.

Recently a young woman shared with me her personal struggle to get anything from her quiet times with Jesus. She was disciplined alright and got up early to read God’s Word and Pray and Praise the Lord, but was still feeling as if she hadn’t met with Him. I asked her what was happening in her life. What she loved or liked? If there was anything she longed for that she knew Father God would not approve of?

You see my friends, if we stop to consider what we’re doing, thinking or felling or fantasising about from day to day, we’ll be able to pinpoint what our HEART AFFECTIONS really are. If something else has crept in, in the place of our PASSION for Jesus.

SATISFACTION GUARANTEED.

Isaiah 58:11 “The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.”

That young woman shared with me; “I’ve been dreaming about being so rich that I wouldn’t have to go to work, can buy a big house and sit down and enjoy the rest of my life in luxury: so I’ve been buying the Lottery tickets every week”. Just one ticked can’t hurt anybody can it? I said, “It’s NOT the Lottery Ticket” “But what we’re DREAMING ABOUT DOING if we become rich”… or “Dreaming about what we don’t need to do”….

She’d also begun to ‘RESENT’ her employment. (Which had led to a deep-seated loathing for her boss) She hated the fact that she needed to go to work to earn money. My friends, there is NOTHING wrong with hard labour, in fact the Bible, God’s Word, tells us it’s GOOD for everyone to be busy and employed at something. Doing something useful with our hands, skills or gifts that your blessed LORD and Saviour has taken time to give you. We’re encouraged to WORK HARD for our Boss, even when his eye or her eyes are not looking over our shoulder.

You should have seen the look on that woman’s face when her eyes were opened. She told me the next week, “I’m meeting with Jesus every day and it’s AWESOME”…

My friends, if you would just prayerfully take time to check out your HEART AFFECTIONS, what’s most important in your life? Then you would easily detect the problem of a LACK OF APPETITE for time with Jesus. When your affections are right, you will be ON FIRE with LOVE for the Saviour. You’ll long to get your head off the pillow to meet with Him every single day.

QUESTION: How’s your appetite, hunger and longing for spending time with your Lord Jesus Christ?

Do you want to? Are you looking forward to it? Or has it become a drudgery? It it like an obligation? Has it become a duty rather than a JOY?

My friends, if your own times with Jesus have become; yuky, ugh, or blah, then do a SPOT CHECK, ROUTINE MAINTENANCE, ON YOUR HEART. Discover with Jesus where your HEART AFFECTIONS are heading. Repent and return to the Saviour of your soul.

SATISFACTION GUARANTEED.

Isaiah 58:11 “The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.

PRAYER: Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I realise that I’ve let other things creep into our relationship. I know that You desire my full attention and complete commitment. I don’t want anything to come between us. Please help me to identify what’s getting in the way and help me with the POWER and Presence of the Holy Spirit to break every chain that’s holding me back and sapping my desire and appetite and hunger to be with you every single day. Amen.

Answered Prayer: Like the woman mentioned above, you too can have your eyes opened by Jesus and you are going to see how awesome He is every day in your life. Do you KNOW the Saviour? Click this LINK to be sure that you are SAVED.

SATISFACTION GUARANTEED.

Isaiah 58:11 “The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.”

WHY? Why have I repeated the SATISFACTION GUARANTEED statement over and over again? Well, if you are born again of God’s Holy Spirit, then you will find satisfaction for ALL your needs and desires in Jesus. You will NEVER fail. You will always be FULL of the Holy Spirit. Even in this desert-like world, you will be over-filled with JOY: Guaranteed by God.

Faith NOT Fear: It’s a choice to believe God’s Promises

God is bigger than all our fears

Daily Spirit & Word, 584: Faith NOT Fear

“Risks and Dangers Are Real, but FEAR is a choice”

Good morning my friends, the Lord has been challenging me again today, about my fears. You know FEAR can be crippling?

Isaiah 41:10 (ANIV) “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

My friends, have you ever experienced a ‘crippling’ fear? A fear that was so bad that it stopped you doing something you knew that you should have done?

A friend told me the other day about how FEAR came upon him, but instead of listening to his fear, he overcame it and stepped out in faith. It was on a Tube Train in London. He saw a man and felt the Lord’s impulse to share something of Jesus with the man, but immediately FEAR gripped him. Fear of what others would think if he talked to someone on the train about Jesus. Praise the LORD! He managed to overcome that FEAR.

We’ve probably ALL had similar experiences when we felt the Lord prompting us to speak or to act, but we’ve rationalised it away.

How many more souls could be saved if we managed to conquer our fears? Those Demonic attacks that come when the Lord is moving us to act or speak?

I’ve had it too my friends and I’ve later repented and asked the Lord to forgive my weakness and fearfulness. I’ve listened to my fears too many times; now I am asking the LORD of Creation to assist me in overcoming my fears. It works you know or should I say the Lord works? He longs to give us the courage to be obedient to His prompting. Yes we still have to take the steps to say “NO” to our fears. And say “YES” to the Lord.

YES: It’s risky. YES: It takes courage. YES: You can do it: Because FEAR is a choice.

Here’s what listening to FEAR can do:

FEAR:

  • Clouds our judgment.
  • Paralyses our actions.
  • Causes us to delay, drag our heels, put-off what we should be doing now.
  • Makes us rationalise or Over-Spiritualise things: We’ll ask for signs like Gideon instead of trusting God when prompted.
  • Makes us paranoid: thinking the whole world will laugh at us or is against us.
  • Makes us irrational; we can loose our ability to analyse objectively.
  • Destroys our trust in others.
  • Doing or Acting for God: Fear Diminishes our ability to believe, to risk or act for God.
  • Pride: Makes us think too much about how we’ll look in the eyes of others.
  • Refuses to believe God is there; is in control, and can be trusted or taken seriously.

“Risks and Dangers Are Real, But FEAR is a Choice”

My friends, the LORD wants you and me to act in FAITH instead of listening to our FEARS.

How can we possibly overcome our FEARS when they arise? How can they be defeated?

Firstly: REMEMBER: Our battle is NOT against flesh and blood (not even your own flesh and blood) it’s against:

Ephesians 6:12-13 (NIV) “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13  Therefore put on the full armour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.”

FAITH

FAITH: Is to believe and act upon the promises of God.

FAITH: Is Trusting God’s Promises.

My friends, I’m praying for you all right now. If you are struggling with fear, battling fears, that you will be free, to find the Lord’s help. I’m praying that you’ll have the courage to believe God, to trust God, and rely upon ALL His promises. He’s with you, He will uphold you with HIS righteous right hand. Awesome!

PRAY: Pray this verse into your heart today: God Speaking to YOU!

“Let Your FAITH Be Bigger Than Your FEAR”

Isaiah 41:10 (NIV) “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Every blessing for a fantastic Friday and glorious weekend with Jesus.

Don.

NOTES: Verses from God’s Word: Promises to help you overcome your FEARS.

2 Timothy 1:7 (NIV) For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.”

Psalm 34:4 (NIV) “I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.”

Psalm 34:17 (NIV) “The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.”

Psalm 46:1-2 (NIV) God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. 2  Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,”

Psalm 46:10 (NIV) “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

Remember how Peter was walking on the water, but when he listened to his fears that he began to sink. Don’t look at the STORMS look to the Master of the waves, who walked on water and commanded the storms to subside. Jesus Christ is LORD over ALL Creation: Lord of Heaven and Earth.  (Matthew 14:22-34).

The Christian’s Call To Holiness Today

The Christians's Call To Holiness

Daily Spirit & Word: 551: The Christian’s Holiness Today.

“There will come a time when the love of most will grow cold.”

Good morning my friends, I’m so sad that I couldn’t post yesterday. However, I’m re-assured by some of you who’ve been telling me that’s it’s given you a chance to catch-up on some of my writings. I know it’s HARD to follow, when someone writes as I do, sooooooo much 🙂 You’ll find countless, hundreds of other daily devotionals that are much shorter, more pithy and pointed. You’ll get a truth from them that will sustain you for a day or a whole week. Praise the LORD for them! I also read some of them too. However, I’m not called by the LORD to be short or concise. Sometimes, I’ll be short, but mostly, I just share what the LORD has put upon my heart to share.

 Matthew 24:9-14
9   “Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me.
10  At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other,
11  and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people.
12  Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold,
13  but he who stands firm to the end will be saved.
14  And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

THE LOVE OF MOST WILL GROW COLD

Today, the Lord Jesus is speaking to me (personally) about Holiness. How He called me and every Christian to be Holy. Now holiness is NOT easy, especially as we live in a fallen world, where the love of most for the things of God has gone completely cold, even amongst the churches. It seems to me that the world and the church have fallen away from the high calling of Jesus Christ in the new testament to be a holy people. However, there are a few faithful left, but the world and the worldly church hate them, because we stand out like a sore thumb. It’s evident to the world today who the true followers of Jesus Christ are; because they will not go along with the ways of the world, they love the Lord and His Word too much for that. But in doing so, in being committed to living according to Jesus teachings, they’ve become targets. Nobody likes to be singled out or viewed as different or odd, yet that’s exactly what Jesus warned His own disciples they would become or be to the world and the worldly church.

FOR INSTANCE: Reverend Melvin Tinker:

He is a Minister in the province of York who protested about the blessing and prayers offered by the staff of York Minster for the ‘Gay Pride Parade’. His public protest hit the headlines and even reached Parliament. He was ridiculed on the BBC and by the Prime Minister, because he dared to stand up for God’s standards revealed in the Bible about morality. The world really does hate the saints when we declare boldly God’s standards of holiness and life.

The LOVE (Holiness, Devotion, Dedication and Faithfulness) of MOST will grow cold.

If Jesus was physically upon the earth today, I’m convinced that He would shout loudly and say, “The End IS Near: Repent and turn to God and walk in Holiness: Judgement is imminent”.

His call has always included a sacrifice from those who respond; the sacrifice for sins is finished with in His own blood upon the Cross, but the sacrifice He expects in return is death to self (selfishness, self-determination, self-will). Jesus’ call is for ALL His followers (Disciples) is to BE Holy. Romans 12:1 “Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.”

Holiness of LIFE:

It’s living a separated life. That’s what HOLY means:

The word translated ‘Holy’ in the Greek of the New Testament is ‘Hagios’ (Scottish Christians love that, because it reminds them of their favourite food ‘Haggis’).

Hagios: Is translated in three main ways:

  • Holy: 161 times.
    Saints: 61 times.
    Holy One: 4 times.
    Miscellaneous translations 3
  • [Total Count: 229] Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary.

The Temple Was Holy: (Because of God’s presence in God’s Holy Place).
The Jewish People Were Holy: (Because He made them Holy by selecting them out from among all the people on Earth).
The Christian Is Called To Be Holy: (Because God the Holy Spirit lives in the Believer: 1 Corinthians 6:19-20)
The Christian Is NOW Part of God’s Holy Called-Out People:

1 Peter 2:9-12 “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
10  Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.
11  Dear friends, I urge you, as aliens and strangers in the world, to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul.
12  Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.”

God’s calling His Church and Jesus calling His Followers (Disciples) to BE HOLY.

William Barclay said; “In the first days of Christianity there was a glory and a splendour, but now Christianity had become a thing of habit, “traditional, half-hearted, nominal.” Barclay’s Daily Study Bible (NT).

William Barclay was not writing about the state of the church today, but the state of the church by the end of the first century. He was commenting upon the state of affairs that the Apostle John was writing to address at the end of his life in his first Epistle ‘1 John’. A ‘nominal’ Christian is one who loves being religious, but his ‘religion’ doesn’t affect his behaviour in the world. He lives like everyone else in society. He’s become a false-convert that Jesus warned about in the Parables; someone who has a form of holiness, but doesn’t live according to his professed belief. John said that a person like that, who “Claims to walk in the light, but continues to sin, cannot have fellowship with God” i.e. He cannot really be converted, the Holy Spirit has never done His work of conversion upon that person’s heart.

What is it that makes many half-hearted, false-believers fall away from their half-hearted ‘nominal’ form of Christianity? Jesus tells us clearly; “Because of the increase of wickedness…” Matthew 24:12. Be sure of this, no true believer will ever fall away from Jesus Christ, only those who were false-converts to begin with.

Romans 8:35-39
35  Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?
36  As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”
37  No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
38  For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39  neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

NOTHING can or will be able to separate the true follower of the Lord Jesus Christ for their Master: NOTHING.

However, there will be a pull, a tugging of the heart-strings and a war of the Saints: Because nobody likes to live at odds with those around them. Compromise and half-hearted responses to worldly ways (just like York Minster’s response to the Gay Pride Parade) will be the condition of MOST, but not all. There will always be few who’ll remain faithful to the Lord, His Word and His Teachings until He returns.

His call to you and me is “BE HOLY”.

But the Christians’ response, because our nature has been transformed by the Holy Spirit, is to welcome holiness as a way of life, it’s not a burden, it’s a strong inward desire to live in accordance to the will of God. Our Spirit, will and desires are in line with His, we want to be walking as Jesus walked. We are daily being transformed into the likeness and character of the Lord Jesus Christ. We’re going to become; more loving, good, pure, holy, happy, joy-filled, peaceful, righteous, forgiving, patient, kind, generous, giving, gentle and self-controlled. What a wonderful full and abundant life we’ve been called to and set-apart for, but it’s not going to be EASY as the world moves further and further away from God’s revealed standards of holiness.

Holiness is NOT a lifestyle choice for Christians, it’s a loving response to His Call upon our lives.

Don’t be surprised that the world hates you because of what you believe and the way that you want to live for Jesus, because Jesus warned us all in advance that this is what it’s going to be like just before He comes back again. There will be an increase of wickedness (sinfulness) in the last days. That’s obvious is we watch the News for just a few moments. However, you, dear brothers and sisters, be strong and of good courage as you live in the last-days.

Praise the LORD because, despite it all, we can be FULL OF THE JOY OF THE LORD.

Be Holy, be ready, be full of the JOY of the Lord.

Don.

Dare You To Be A Disciple

Following Jesus means self-sacrifice and a cross

Daily Spirit & Word: 543: Dare You To Be A Disciple.

The Kingdom Power To Deny Self.

“Lord I need Your fullness to help me to live like Jesus. Come Holy Spirit” Amen.

Good morning my friends, I’m feeling a lot stronger today and my back is well on the way to recovery. Praise the LORD! Last night, just before we went out to share the Gospel on the streets of West Norwood in London, some brothers and sisters were praying for me and my back felt much better afterwards. Then we had the most amazing time witnessing on the streets about the Lord Jesus. It was weird last night, because we bumped into more Christians than normal, but what struck me is what they said, “We also share our faith regularly”… Praise the LORD! More and more followers of Jesus are waking up to the fact that the UK IS a Mission Field and the Gospel needs to be proclaimed afresh in every generation until the Lord comes back again.

In the reading below I’m excited about the fact that some of those who were standing in the crowd would SEE the KINGDOM of God before they died. My friends, you too can and will experience the Kingdom with Jesus.

Luke 9:23-27 (NLT)
23  Then he said to the crowd, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross daily, and follow me.
24  If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it.
25  And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but are yourself lost or destroyed?
26  If anyone is ashamed of me and my message, the Son of Man will be ashamed of that person when he returns in his glory and in the glory of the Father and the holy angels.
27  I tell you the truth, some standing here right now will not die before they see the Kingdom of God.”

It’s like Jesus is daring us to be His disciples, “Go on, I dare you to be My follower, if you’re really serious then you must….”

When you do deny self and take up the cross, then you’ll see the Kingdom. If that was true for those that Jesus was talking with, He must have meant something other than His second return: He did 🙂 He meant they would see God’s Kingdom Power break into their lives after His crucifixion, death, resurrection and ascension. The Kingdom of God came when the Holy Spirit brought NEW LIFE and POWER to EVERY BELIEVER on the day of Pentecost. He came and filled everyone who had trusted in Jesus Christ’s death upon the Cross: God’s Kingdom definitely did come upon that generation, and it can come into your life too.

YBH? (Yes, But HOW?).

How can you see the KINGDOM today?

There are certain things that will accompany true faith in Jesus Christ.
The Passage in Luke 9:23-27 Above Make Those Things Crystal Clear:

Firstly: A Believer Will Deny SELF: (verse 23)
Jesus said to the crowd, “If any of you wants to be my follower (Disciple), you must turn from your selfish ways (Deny Self)…” NLT
or as the Amplified version tells us; Luke 9:23 23  And He said to all, “If any person wills to come after Me, let him deny himself [disown himself, forget, lose sight of himself and his own interests, refuse and give up himself]

What does it mean to deny self? Do you remember when Peter denied Jesus three times? Peter said, “I don’t even know the man”. Well what Jesus is telling us to do here is the same as that kind of denial to our selfishness, it’s like saying to your FLESH; “I don’t know you”… It happens when we’re tempted and tried to do or think or say something that wouldn’t be good for a follower of Jesus. It’s like me saying when I’m tempted to do something immoral, “I don’t know you Donald” … We need to deny ourselves every single day for Jesus.

Self Sacrifice: It’s like saying “NO” to your passions and desires that are contrary to your walk with Jesus. It really is a daily battle, that is why we need to come and be with the LORD Daily (Yesterday’s Teaching).

Denying Self: Is to ignore the very existence of oneself. It is to treat the self within each of us as if it did not exist. The normal human experience is to treat ourselves, to look after self interests, to think of self as if our self was far and away the most important thing in the world. The reality check is this; “It’s NOT all about you” or we need to say to ourselves, “It’s NOT all about me”.

Adverts & The Media: That’s why advertising works so well: Every advert appeals to SELF… “You need this” or “You Deserve This Product” or “You’ll LOOK great wearing this” or “Everyone will LOVE YOU when you get this” or “If you’ve got one of these everyone else will wish they were you”…. they know that appealing to the SELF sells stuff. No wonder Christianity is so unpopular these days, because Jesus is telling us to do the complete opposite of the world: YOU need to DIE to SELF. You need to say “NO” to yourself.

Now Jesus is declaring if “ANYONE wants to follow ME” If you are desiring to follow Jesus Christ today then you must forget that self exists.

Not only must we forget and deny SELF, we must KILL SELF. (Put it to DEATH).

Secondly: TAKE UP YOUR CROSS: Luke 9:23 (NIV)

Then he said to them all: “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”

It is a DAILY dying to self (see yesterday’s teaching about DAILY).

But what does it mean; “take up his cross daily”?

Jesus knew all about Crucifixion long before He went to the Cross to suffer and die for the sins of the world. As a young boy growing up in Israel, when Jesus was about seven years old, there was a massive rebellion four miles away from where he lived with his mum Mary, dad Joseph and brothers and sisters. There was a man called Judas who led a rebellion against Roman rule and raided the Royal Armoury at Sepphoris. It would have left a deep impression on the young boy Jesus, because afterwards thousands of those rebels were crucified and they lined the roads with the bodies upon Crosses, everyone in Galilee would be in no doubt who was in charge, the Romans. Jesus said to people “You must deny yourself and take up your Cross and follow me” In other words, you must die to self.

St Paul carries on with this same theme of self-denial in Romans:

Romans 12:1 “Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.”

Someone has humorously said, “The problem with living-sacrifices is that they crawl off the altar”… Yes my friends, we do tend to shrink or crawl away from self-sacrifice, but that’s exactly what Jesus is talking about “Take UP your Cross” It really is a daily duty to follow Jesus and die to self.

Why would anyone in their right mind deny themselves like that? Why would you want to or be prepared to DIE for Jesus? Surely people who are prepared to die for a cause are FANATICS right? Look at the Jehadi Bombers who kill themselves, everybody thinks they are MAD.

Well, Jesus is not calling you to be a fanatical killer of others, but a killer of self’s passions and desires that lead you away from God. That’s why it is a daily battle, because the self is a living-sacrifice, it doesn’t die, it stays alive, so it must be killed and denied every single day.

Practical Application to LIFE:

Denying self: Means Saying “NO” to;

  • Bitching about others in the workplace.
  • Coveting what others have (Keeping up with the Smiths next door)
  • Greed: Having more than you need in life. Having more on your place. Having more money. Hoarding for self.
  • Rudeness: Saying not to being rude, telling rude stories, rude jokes. We all find some things funny, but it means taking no part in overt rudeness.
  • Drunkenness: We are permitted as Christians to drink, but we’re called by the LORD not to over-indulge in alcohol. You know how much is enough, so stop before you have too much. Say “No! I’ve had enough” Learn to stop.
  • Night Clubs: These are places that people flaunt themselves at one another. It’s OK to dance and sing and make merry, but we must be very careful how we conduct ourselves in the world.
  • Dress: How we dress oursleves as Christians is important too. Not to provoke anyone to sin in the way that we dress.. I’m not saying women or men should dress like Muslims, covering our whole bodies up, women even wearing a Burka to cover their faces. That’s just extreme! However, there are ways of dressing that can and will attract and arouse, making sexual overtones in the way we dress or look cannot be right for the follower of Jesus.
  • Movies, DVDs, Internet: Not watching movies that are Adult rated: They tend to have; Violence, Bad Language, Sexual Scenes. Any 18 rated movie or TV program will have these things in abundance today. Jesus doesn’t want you to use bad language and you should not be around or watch films that have it. Hollywood always has BLASPHEMY of the Lord Jesus in nearly every movie. How do you feel when you hear them saying “Jesus Christ” as a swear word? It makes me feel sick in the stomach. Notice Hollywood never says “Allah or Buddha or Ghandi etc” it’s always “Jesus Christ” that they blaspheme. Don’t give them your money my friends.
  • Money: Getting out of the habit of thinking that my money is my own for “My” life. “I’ve worked hard for it so I deserve to spend it on myself” NO! Everything you have is from God. He made the whole universe and He allows you to have a little in life. So a follower of Jesus will want to give generously to others and to God’s Kingdom work. Not keeping or hoarding what you have for yourself (Luke 9:24-25). If we try to keep our money, then we’re going to see it waste away, it’s rotting when it’s not working for the Kingdom.
  • WORK: We’re going to be working hard at our job, doing our best, but we’re not going to be climbing the ladder to success at the expense of others. A Christian will work and do their best, but they’ll be a pleasure to work with. You’ll be kind towards your colleagues and you’ll think how can I make this place a real success in the world. Christians will work to be an influence for good in the workplace.

Denying SELF is a REAL Sacrifice: But there is great reward awaiting, we’ll experience the KINGDOM today.

It’s like Jesus is daring us to be His followers; dare you to be a follower of Jesus Christ today 🙂

“DARE TO BE A DISCIPLE”

Let’s get our focus right today, Jesus said, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross daily, and follow me.” Trying to hang onto our independence will mean loosing out on the exciting and joyfilled experiencing His Kingdom today.

Denying SELF: Is jumping off the throne of your life and letting Jesus be the KING. It’s a decision every day to allow Jesus to rule your life as your King. Living your life every day for Jesus. To be able to DENY SELF and TAKE UP OUR CROSS every day, we’re going to need HELP. Thankfully, the Lord has been gracious and desires to enable us to LIVE like Him. He’s given you the Holy Spirit, the same Spirit that raised Jesus from death, He’s IN every born-again follower of Jesus.

Respond: Cry out to the Holy Spirit now and say; “Dear Lord and Heavenly Father, I can see that if I’m going to die to self and take up my cross every single day, then I need Your fullness to help me to live like Jesus, I invite you to come Holy Spirit, I’m open to what you want to do in my life today. In the Name of Jesus Christ I pray” Amen.

Hope you all have an amazing and wonderful experience of the Lord as you LIVE for Jesus in the world today. Go on, Jesus is daring you to be a Disciple, a follower of Himself today.

Don.

Dare You To Be A Disciple.

God’s Expansive Reasoning

God's LOVE extends to all people, everywhere, always,

Daily Spirit & Word, 533: God’s EXPANSIVE REASONING.

God is LOVE: The LORD / LOVE Cannot Be Contained.

Good morning my friends, it’s great to be back home again. We had a wonderful short time away in Cornwall for my niece’s wedding blessing, which I conducted on the edge of a cliff in Cornwall at Hayle beach. Such an awesome place, three miles of golden sands and a beautiful bay. When you take a look you can’t help but praise the Lord for His awesome Creative boundless and expansive LOVE.

God’s revelation to me today:

“Expansive Reasoning: God’s Expansive Love”

Have you ever woken-up with a word or a phrase upon your head? This is what was upon mine this morning at 3.00am; “Expansive Reasoning”… Then came God’s revelation: about God Himself and His EXPANSIVE LOVE.

“Expansive Reasoning” It seemed to me that God was saying to me this morning,

“You try and contain God’s love, but God is LOVE and that love cannot be contained, because it is boundless and free.”

Further, as I was slowly coming awake the voice said; “The human tendency is to limit, control, dominate and determine, but God’s nature is expansive, because He wants to set-free instead of controlling, He wants to broadcast His GRACE so that it’s available for everyone, He wants to shower His love upon everyone regardless of who they are, what they are like or where they come from.”

“Oh WOWzer!” I thought to myself, I’ve just got to get-up, get out of bed and Google this 🙂

Then I thought to myself, “Donald, you must have read that somewhere” and “I know, I’ll Google it when I get up”. When I get up? I just had to get up whilst the thought was upon my mind, it’s 3.00am… Ahhhhhh!

So I got up and Googled “EXPANSIVE REASONING”, hoping and praying the LORD had given me something original. It’s amazing, because we all want to be the first at things don’t we, that’s another human tendency, we’re competitive with one another, God’s NOT like that, His nature is to co-operate instead of to compete. For instance, just look at the way that Jesus subjugated His own will to the Father’s throughout His time on earth. WOWzer! It’s NOT ON Google yet! Praise the LORD for He’s always ORIGINAL. He gave it to me whilst I was sleeping, a phrase that even Google has not heard about, until this morning; “EXPANSIVE REASONING.”

You know the place in the bible where it reveals God’s expansive love? Every single page 🙂 He wants all people, in every place at every juncture in time to KNOW and EXPERIENCE His wonderful LOVE. Because God is LOVE He desires ALL people to KNOW and EXPERIENCE Himself. That’s awesome, that’s Expansive love and it’s even revealed in CREATION: God made the universe and it’s constantly expanding. God’s LOVE goes out like that, it’s continually going out and extending to everyone and everything. The Bible tells us that through Creation we can know that there is a God and that we should respond to Him by loving Him back. (Romans 1,2)

Perhaps I did get it, in a round about way; from these amazing hymn lyrics;

“Here is love vast as the ocean,
loving kindness, as a flood,”

Do you know it? It’s one of my favourites, because it’s reveals God’s EXPANSIVE REASONING and extends His LOVE to all people in every age. “God IS Love”…

My friends, have you ever had a word from the LORD? Well I’m sure He’s speaking, not just to me today, but to each and every one of you who are reading this. He wants you to know just how much He loves you, but to experience and know that love and the person of God, you’ll need to respond, to yield yourself to Him, to give in and let Him love you.

A Boy’s First LOVE: It’s like the boy trying to win the girl’s heart for the first time in his life. He’s adored her for ages and wants her to be his girlfriend, so he trys wooing her with flowers, gifts and kindnesses that he’s never extended to anyone in his life before. Questions assail his mind, “Will she love me back? Will she open up her heart to me? Will she love me as much as I love her?” His love is an ‘Expansive’ love. He’ll shower his love upon his new sweetheart. He’ll do anything to win her love.

My friends, God wants to love you like that, in fact He is loving you like that right now, let Him love you my friends, let Him love you.

I’m getting the feeling today that’s exactly what God’s looking for from us as well. We are His, His Created human beings and He wants us to love Him back just as much as He has loved us.

Here’s my NEW TITLE for this passage: “God’s EXPANSIVE REASONING: GOD’S EXPANSIVE LOVE”

1 John 4:7-12 7 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
8  Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
9  This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.
10  This is love: not that we loved Godbut that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
11  Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
12  No-one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

I know that, like me, some of you have been experiencing pain, hardships, trials of many kinds. The last few weeks I’ve been in constant pain and sometime excruciating agony, at the wedding on Saturday I was also in agony, standing of the cliff-top, but just had to be there for my niece Sammy to shower God’s blessings upon her and new life with Tim. I wouldn’t have missed it for the world. Love moves beyond pain and leaps into the heart my friends. And I believe they were touched by God’s love too.

God IS love my friends, He wants you to know Himself, to experience Himself, to know that you are loved with an expansive love that is boundless and free. Jesus died so that we could experience God’s love personally, receive it my friends. His love brings healing in it’s wings.

Have an awesome week walking in the love of the Lord.

“Love ONE ANOTHER”

Be filled afresh with God’s Holy Spirit right now, when you are you’ll be full of His LOVE, because God IS love, and you’ll be a power-source for God’s hand of love extended to a world that needs to know Him and His love for everyone. There are so many people walking around in pain; broken relationships, hurts and hatred, they need to feel and know God’s love today. Share that LOVE with everyone, regardless of who they are or where they come from or what they are like. God wants to use you to touch someone elses’s life with His love.

“Share that LOVE with everyone, regardless of who they are or where they come from or what they are like.”

Three times in the passage above it says; “LOVE ONE ANOTHER” = if you do then “God’s LOVE is in you”. My friends, are you getting God’s message today? His EXPANSIVE REASONING; “If you love one another as I have loved you, then you know me, I’m in you, and you are free to love everyone”…

Every blessing in Jesus.

Don.

Do a Goggle search for “Expansive Reasoning” and you’ll see that it comes to just one page, this one, this page, for now 🙂 Praise the LORD for His amazing originality. Now go and practice His EXPANSIVE REASONING AND HIS EXPANSIVE LOVE.

No Room At The Table

No Room At The Table

Daily Spirit & Word: 532: No Seat At The Table.

Tough Times: Jesus KNOWS what it’s like

1) To Feel Rejection.

John 1:10-11 10  He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognise him. 11  He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him.

I was watching a BBC News report about the recent G7 or is it G6 or G* 🙂 G Whizzz…

A few of the worlds top leaders were sitting around this great round table, the big cheese was speaking (The President of the United States of America) and all the other leaders were listening. As I watched I noticed that there was a longing upon David Cameron’s face, it seemed to me, perhaps just my imagination, that he wanted to be sitting right next to the President, but he was far away on the other side of the table. Who sits next to who is important at the table, but imagine how poor old Mr Putin must have been feeling, because there was no room for him at that table, not this time anyway.

There’s nothing worse than feeling rejected or cut-off or excluded. Kids know this from a very young age and feel it so badly when their ‘best friend’ makes another ‘best friend’…

No Room At the Inn:

Luke 2:6-7  “While they were there (in Bethlehem), the time came for the baby to be born, 7  and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.”

From the moment of His birth, our Lord Jesus experienced ‘rejection’.

No Room At The Table:

Have you ever been in a situation that you wanted to join a group of people at a table, but there were not enough seats? or you couldn’t sit next to one of your friends? or you had the feeling you were not wanted? I had it recently on a conference. It was later in the evening when the seminars had finished and people had gathered in small groups to chat and have a relaxing drink together. At one table in a large room full of people, there were a few people that I knew, not very well, but a least a little bit and I wanted to join them, but there were no seats, so I found a spare chair and pulled it close to the table. I thought they’d be glad of my company, but I was wrong, they seemed to be a bit put-out having to bunch up a bit closer together. I felt like a bad-smell or something like an refugee trying to push into a country that didn’t want me. I persevered and as time passed I began to feel a little bit more accepted, it wasn’t long before I felt like one who belonged to this table. However, I’ll never forget that momentary, fleeting feeling of not being welcome.

In the Lord Jesus Christ, we have a friend who’s had those experiences too. He’s been rejected and even at the start of His life the Bible tells us; “There was NO ROOM for Jesus at the Inn” His mother Mary was close to giving birth, and they still couldn’t find room for her in that delicate (and at that time, dangerous) situation.

Know the TRUTH:

“What life does to you depends on what life finds in you!”

I didn’t tell you, but when I felt rejected at that table, I offered up an arrow prayer to the Lord Jesus, and I immediately felt completely at ease, it no longer bothered me that those people at the table didn’t want me, because I’ve got a SAVIOUR who loves me. Anyhow, Jesus is the best friend anyone could ever have. Knowing that deeper truth freed me and enabled me to love those who didn’t love me. In the end we had a great little time at that table. In the end, Jesus parents had an most amazing time in the stable with distinguished visitors who came to see their new born baby.

If you ever feel shut-out, neglected, ignored or relegated to a seat at the opposite end of the table from your ‘special’ friend, like David Cameron was from President Obama, then don’t worry, be strong in Jesus, love them and you’ll soon discover that even the greatest person at the table will want to come and be the one who’s longing to sit next to you. When you’ve got the Lord Jesus with you, then you can’t fail to impress with the awesome light that shines from your face. He’ll give you lasting peace in your heart and such a joy that it’s infectious.

I’ve got to do a study on “What life does to you depends on what life finds in you!”

I read that statement in a commentary by Warren Weirsbee: And it’s so true, When we’ve got Jesus Christ IN us, nothing in life will be able to determine our future. The Bible tells us: Know the Truth (Jesus) and the truth shall set you free. Jesus experienced all kinds of troubles and problems in life, so HE KNOWS what it’s like my friends. Being shut out and ignored just two of them, they are painful experiences, but there’s always hope in every situation and He’ll enable you to rise above it and be able to keep on shining the light. I’ll share more later.

Have and awesome Wednesday.
