CHALLENGE: “Is your FAITH Dead or Alive?”

Refugee, Asylum Seekers, Syrian Crisis, UK, Response, LOVE,

Daily Spirit & Word, 595:

TEST Question: “Is Your FAITH: Dead or Alive?”

The Migrant / Asylum Seeker Crisis:

It’s NOT going to be over for a long time to come.

Good morning my friends, heart check-up time. How do you FEEL towards those in desperate need?

I read yesterday about the Archbishop of Canterbury opening up Lambeth Palace to some Migrants / Asylum Seekers. Praise the LORD!

Our TV and Newspapers graphic scenes and pictures show so many in heart-rending need, that thinking we can do anything to help overwhelms us. However, it is possible that if we ALL did just something, then ALL their needs could be met easily.

Be assured of this, their plight and their need are NOT going to go away quickly, there’s no quick fix solution, so we are ALL going to be affected by it sometime sooner or later. So why not choose to be affected today?

Listen to what the LORD said about this current crisis:

Luke 12:22-34

22 Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear.
23  Life is more than food, and the body more than clothes.
24  Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds!
25  Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?
26  Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?
27  “Consider how the lilies grow. They do not labour or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendour was dressed like one of these.
28  If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith!
29  And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it.
30  For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them.
31  But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.
32  “Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom.
33  Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys.
34  For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

“SELL YOUR POSSESSIONS AND GIVE TO THE POOR”

Is Jesus serious? Does He really want us to give away all our hard-earned, sweated and laboured for possessions to help these poor people?

Most of us would give out of what we have of the spare-change in our pockets, but would we really go as far as selling our prised possessions? Would you sell your big TV so that someone could have some food that would be gone if a few hours? Would you sell your digital watch? Camera? Computer? Smart Phone? Ornament? Jewellery? Garden furniture? Classic car? Designer trainers? etc etc etc…. “Sell your possessions and give to the poor”: Jesus is just checking to see if people are more important to you than things.

NOTE: If you are having to sell your possessions, then you’ve already emptied your bank balance to help them out.

Notice what happens if you are prepared to TRUST the LORD to provide for your NEEDS.

You’ll be; “Providing purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will NEVER be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys.”

  • Do we LOVE people we don’t even know?
  • Do we LOVE strangers enough to go empty our bank balance?
  • De we LOVE migrants and asylum seekers enough to sell our prised possessions?

What are things anyway?

What are people?

Things can be replaced: People cannot.

Things can be worked for again: people can’t.

You may never have an opportunity like this again in your lifetime.

Is Jesus calling upon you to RESPOND?

Question: Am I prepared to TRUST the LORD like this?

Prayer: “Oh Lord Jesus, I can see that there are many, countless thousands of people that need help, and I know that all the meagre possessions that I own won’t feed that many or clothe only a few, but Lord I do feel challenged today, to take You at Your WORD. So I’m going to trust You Jesus and begin to sell what I possess to give something towards the relief of those who’re suffering right now. Amen!”

Will you join me? Who is ready to follow Jesus teaching today? Is this what Jesus meant us to be doing with those in desperate need? How much can I really keep hold upon when others are suffering? Is my conscience bothering me? Do I feel the pain of their plight? How would I be feeling if I had to walk 50, 100, 200, 300, 500 miles to get some help?

The LORD will bless you if you do respond gladly and generously:

Proverbs 28:27 “He who gives to the poor will lack nothing, but he who closes his eyes to them receives many curses.”

Deuteronomy 15:10 “Give generously to him (the needy brother) and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the LORD your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to.”

Proverbs 19:17 “He who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward him for what he has done.”

Psalm 41:1  “Blessed is he who has regard for the weak; the LORD delivers him in times of trouble.”

Every Human Being IS your “flesh-and-blood”: Your Brothers and Sisters.

Because we are all made in the Image of God: We all come from Adam and Eve: We’re FAMILY.

Isaiah 58:7 “Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter— when you see the naked, to clothe him, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?”

Claiming to be a Follower of Jesus and not doing something to HELP means you don’t really have any FAITH in Jesus at all:

James 2:14-17 What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? 15  Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. 16  If one of you says to him, “Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? 17  In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.”

Question: Is your FAITH dead or alive?

If you really do trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, then KNOW that He gave up everything so that you could have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10), so then, respond to this GOLDEN opportunity: Sell your possessions and GIVE, GLADLY, WILLINGLY, GENEROUSLY, FREELY to those in NEED and expect NOTHING in return. Amen!

You’ll be blessed by the LORD: You’ll be storing up treasures in Heaven: Jesus will be with you in ALL you do.

It’s Like an EXODUS of Biblical Proportions

Syrian Exodus Help

Daily Spirit & Word, 594:

“IF” You Help The Thirsty & Afflicted ???

Will you? Will You? Will YOU HELP?

Have you seen the NEWS lately? We’ve all been shocked and moved by the plight of those poor people. Thousands of people pouring over the borders of many countries, they’ve been kept bottled up in Turkey for a few years now and quite understandable, they’ve had enough. Their country Syria has become a dangerous, desolate wasteland. Many countless thousands were given tents and water and the very basics, but they’d had much more than that and they expect much more than that for their children and grandchildren. If their homeland can’t be fixed, then what else can they do, but risk everything to make a perilous journey and head for the place where dreams come true: Europe; Germany, England, France and the forlorn hope of ever being able to get to the Golden Land: America. Places of peace, social security and probably most importantly PROSPERITY. All that they want is the freedom to work and build a secure, safe future for their families.

Some politicians have declared;

“It’s like an EXODUS of Biblical proportions”.

It is and the plight is equally deadly.

The RESPONSE of those on the RECEIVING end of THE EXODUS:

We’re divided in our response; some want to help them closer to their homeland, in the forlorn hope that they’ll be able to return to Syria or their country of origin one day. (The thinking behind that is; keep them away from us and perhaps the problem will go away).

Some want to help them now, wherever they can be found, welcome them with open arms and give them assistance to become what they’re dreaming about.

However, there are countless other responses in-between; But the critical thing for Christians, followers of Jesus, is to ask this question: “What did Jesus do?” It is NOT “what would Jesus do?” because that is ambiguous and uncertain and we can be quite adept at making things up, but it is very definitely, “What DID Jesus do?”

He reached out His hand and said “I AM WILLING”…. “BE; clean, healed, delivered, set-free,”

My friends, that’s what Jesus did: Now I feel the LORD has given us ALL a GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY to be like Jesus.

Where do you sit in the current crisis?

I think we all know what Jesus would do: He’d reach out his hand and welcome them ALL with open arms. How do we KNOW that’s what Jesus would do? Because that’s what Jesus did whilst He was upon the earth. He went out of His way (Heaven) to come and help those that everybody else rejected. He lifted the dignity of the poor, the weak, the lame, the feeble, the sinful and the powerful. He gave them HOPE in a desert place. He gave them purpose when they didn’t have a reason to live. He gave them the ability to see above the dirt and the squalor of life here on this earth. My friends, that’s what Jesus has done for you too. How could we withhold that from anyone else?

Here’s what God wants YOU and ME to do today:

Isaiah 58:10 (NIV) and if you spend yourselves on behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday.”

What a challenge: “If you spend yourself” i.e. get tired, exhausted, broken and beaten: On behalf of the hungry, afflicted and oppressed.

  • Watch what will happen to you if you do that: “Your light will rise” It’s what Jesus was teaching us about “letting our light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven”… WOWzer!
  • Watch what else will happen in your life, if you spend yourself on the hungry and afflicted and oppressed: “Your DARKNESS will become like noonday” I.E. all that troubles you, the darkness that surrounds your life, will vanish like a morning mist on a summer’s day.

The Lord’s NOT finished yet though:

Look at His promises in the next verse:

Isaiah 58:11 (NIV) “The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.”

My friends, those of you filled with God’s Holy Spirit, Born of the Spirit, listen to His CALL to you today: “If you spend yourself on behalf of those in desperate need…” There is an “IF”, because the LORD has given us the freedom to respond. However how can we do anything else? We need to be STRONG my friends and PREPARED to COME TO THE AID of EVERYONE who needs our assistance.

I’m feeling challenged today: Because the LORD is saying to me: “Donald, what are you doing for the oppressed, the hungry and the afflicted?” “Donald, what’s your heart-attitude like towards those who NEED your help?”

And I KNOW: The LORD Himself will guide, strengthen, provide and supply ALL that I need to enable ‘me’ to help. All He’s looking for is a HEART THAT WILL SAY: “With me Lord, there is no ‘IF’ or ‘BUT’, I’m going to make the most of this golden opportunity to SHINE LIKE THE NOONDAY and see your hand of guidance and support Lord. Amen!”

I’m praying the Lord will enable you all to respond to His call to shine by responding to the call of those in desperate need today. Amen.

Don.

P.S. What will happen to us if we TURN AWAY from what we KNOW the LORD is calling us to do?

Jeremiah 17:5-6 (NIV)
5  This is what the LORD says: “Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who depends on flesh for his strength and whose heart turns away from the LORD.
6  He will be like a bush in the wastelands; he will not see prosperity when it comes. He will dwell in the parched places of the desert, in a salt land where no-one lives.

Who Wants To Live Forever?

Divine Seed, Gospel Good News, Gives Life,

Daily Spirit & Word: 593: You Were Born Again To LIVE Forever.

Everybody NEEDS to be Born Again IF they are going to LIVE.

Good morning my friends, do you remember the Freddie Mercury (Queen) song “Who wants to live forever?”? Do you know or are you aware, that there are so many Christians who think that they are ‘Born Again’ only so long as they perform well, are obedient and good? However the Bible, which is the WORD of God, declares that when you are Born Again it is not just for a little while, but FOREVER.

1 Peter 1:23-25 (AMP)

23  You have been regenerated (born again), not from a mortal origin (seed, sperm), but from one that is immortal by the ever living and lasting (ETERNAL) Word of God.

24  For all flesh (mankind, humankind) is like grass, and all its glory (honor) like [the] flower of grass. The grass withers and the flower (fall) drops off,

25  But the Word of the Lord (divine instruction, the Gospel, Good News) endures forever. And this Word is the good news (Gospel) which was preached to you.

HOW THE NEW LIFE BEGAN:

When you: REPENTED (for without repentance you cannot be saved), Believed that Jesus died upon the Cross for your sins and Received Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, then you were BORN AGAIN of God’s Holy Spirit. The seed that impregnated is the Gospel (Good News) about Jesus.

Just as a man impregnates a woman’s egg with his sperm and life begins in the egg. (Life begins at conception).

So the WORD of God is Planted in you and Impregnated with the SEED (The Gospel of Jesus Christ). New LIFE (Born Again, Regeneration) begins from that moment on. Praise the LORD.

However, as our text in 1 Peter 1:23-25 declares: This is God’s WORD: The WORD that regenerated you is not the SAME as human sperm. Human sperm is temporal, it will die and so will the egg that it impregnates.

Just like when you go shopping at Tesco, Asda, Iceland or the Co-Op: The things you buy have a sell-by-date stamped upon them, that’s because like human beings, they will deteriorate, they will eventually go-off, go rotten and will need to be thrown out. The sad fact is that EVERY (100%) of human beings will eventually fade away and die. Ten out of Ten DIE.

Just as Peter illustrates from God’s Word in Isaiah 40:6-9 “The flowers fade and fall, the grass withers and dies”

However, the Good News is this: When you come to Christ you are Born Again of an IMPERISHABLE (Eternal, Living, Abiding) seed. You are going to LIVE from that moment on forever. It is the GOSPEL (GOOD NEWS) that was proclaimed, preached, evangelised, shared with you that brought about this NEW LIFE when you received it with faith.

Can you see the NEED to be born again?

If a human being is NOT born again of God’s Word by coming to faith and trust in Jesus Christ, He or She will one day die, and that DEATH is eternal. They will be thrown into God’s ETERNAL PRISON CALLED HELL. Because they have not been born again, i.e. they’ve not Repented, Believed in Jesus death upon the Cross for their sins, and Received Jesus Christ as their Saviour and Lord. They will die with their sins upon their own heads instead of upon Christ’s Cross.

Believe me, this is not just Donald writing this, it was Jesus Christ who said, “You must be born again”.

{Please NOTE: It would be most beneficial if you read ALL of the text of John 3:1-21, because it’s all related to the SAME subject of Being Born Again and the NEED to be born again if you want to Enter into God’s Kingdom, Heaven).

John 3:1-21 (ANIV) Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a member of the Jewish ruling council.

2  He came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi, we know you are a teacher who has come from God. For no-one could perform the miraculous signs you are doing if God were not with him.”
3  In reply Jesus declared, “I tell you the truth, no-one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.”
4  “How can a man be born when he is old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb to be born!”
5  Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, no-one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.
6  Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.
7  You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’
8  The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”
9  “How can this be?” Nicodemus asked.
10  “You are Israel’s teacher,” said Jesus, “and do you not understand these things?
11  I tell you the truth, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony.
12  I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things?
13  No-one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven—the Son of Man.
14  Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,
15  that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.
16  “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
17  For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
18  Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.
19  This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.
20  Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.
21  But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.”

God Wants Everyone To Be SAVED (Born Again).

No ONE (none) need die this eternal death.

God has given us the GOOD NEWS to impregnate every soul on earth.

However, it take something on our part to receive this NEW LIFE: The Bible calls that SAVING FAITH: Do you know how to get or give faith away? FAITH comes by hearing the eternal Word of God. (Romans 10) Awesome!

Question 1: Is there ANYONE you know who’s NOT Born Again? They need to be to be saved. It doesn’t matter how ‘good’ a person thinks they are, unless they’ve been born again they CANNOT enter into the Kingdom of God.

Question 2: Will you do what you can to bring your loved ones into God’s Kingdom? What can you do? Proclaim, preach, declare the Good News (Gospel) of Jesus Christ: That Jesus died upon a Cross, giving His life so that they could be saved from God’s wrath and anger against their sins and His just judgement and hell. (Everyone has broken God’s Commandments).

Question 3: Is anything else more important than a person’s eternal welfare?

Jesus asked that question like this:  Matthew 16:26 (NIV) What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?”

Remember: God so LOVED the world (every single human soul that He created) that He gave His One and ONLY Son to die upon the Cross for their sins. (John 3:16). He did it so EVERYONE could be saved.

Prayer: Oh Heavenly Father, thank you for showing me afresh today through 1 Peter 1:23-25 that we’re born again of a seed that is imperishable and that I’m going to last forever. However, I realise that not everyone I know an love is ‘born again’ or even wants to be, please Lord, help me to be faithful, to know that a person can only be ‘born again’ and saved by hearing the Good News Gospel of Jesus Christ, Your One and Only Son and to proclaim that message with boldness, urgency and gentleness with respect and power. I know that life is in the Word proclaimed. It’s Your Divine Seed that will bring life. I’m praying to you Father in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen!

Have a tremendous Thursday, KNOWING that when you come to Christ you are going to LIVE forever.

Amen!

Don.

The Untouchables

Jesus touches the untouchables and makes them clean

Daily Spirit & Word: 591: The Untouchables.

Would You Touch A Leper?

Good morning my friends, in our Church we’re about to begin a new preaching / teaching series on the Gospel of Mark. I’m getting ready and have been reading it through again. I was touched by my King Jesus today, because He’s willing and ready to touch everybody.

Leprosy is a disease: It has many forms, but in it’s worst form it is contagious, it spreads and isolates people.

In the time of Jesus they didn’t differentiate between forms of leprosy they treated everyone who contracted the disease the same; they isolated them and made certain they kept their distance from uncontaminated people.

Bells were placed around their necks and they were to shout a warning when approached by someone “Unclean, Unclean” “Leprosy” or “Leper coming through”… Leviticus 13:45-46  “The person with such an infectious disease must wear torn clothes, let his hair be unkempt, cover the lower part of his face and cry out, ‘Unclean! Unclean!’ 46  As long as he has the infection he remains unclean. He must live alone; he must live outside the camp.”

Would you touch a Leper? Jesus did!

Mark 1:40-45 A man with leprosy came to him and begged him on his knees, “If you are willing, you can make me clean.”
41  Filled with compassion, Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!”
42  Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cured.
43  Jesus sent him away at once with a strong warning:
44  “See that you don’t tell this to anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest and offer the sacrifices that Moses commanded for your cleansing, as a testimony to them.”
45  Instead he went out and began to talk freely, spreading the news. As a result, Jesus could no longer enter a town openly but stayed outside in lonely places. Yet the people still came to him from everywhere.

“I AM Willing”

“If You Are Willing?” the Leper pleaded with Jesus and our Lord Jesus said, “I AM willing”

My friends, this touch of the untouchable is astonishing, because everybody who touches a leper becomes ritually unclean in Jesus day. They were considered to be contaminated. However, the man gets cured and runs around telling everybody about his healing. It becomes impossible for Jesus to move around freely. So instead of the Leper being isolated, as required by the Law of Moses, in lonely places, it’s our LORD who’s forced to go, He had to stay outside the towns and cities as a result of touching that Leper, but it wasn’t because Jesus was infected, but because everyone wanted to touch or be touched by the Saviour.

Knowing that Jesus was willing to touch an untouchable man gave EVERYBODY confidence that this man Jesus would also be likely to be willing to touch them and heal them too.

My friends, Jesus is still willing to touch the untouchable, the unclean, the sinner. He’s also waiting to touch your heart too. He’s longong for you to shout out to Him, “Lord if you are willing, you can make me clean”. He IS WILLING.

No wonder Jesus wanted to move on, because He didn’t care about being popular or famous, Jesus came with a Mission and a Message, not just to heal. He understood the shallowness of people who’d come just for what they wanted. They were not coming to hear Jesus words or his message, but to feel His touch. They knew that just one touch from this man changes everything.

I love that worship song; “Just ONE touch of the King changes everything”

How different we are to that Leper:

  • He was commanded by Jesus to “Keep quiet about his healing”. Instead he told EVERYBODY.
  • We are commanded to tell everyone the Good News of Jesus: Instead we keep quiet and don’t tell ANYBODY.

WHEN THE LEPER SPREADS THE GOOD NEWS:

People came from everywhere to be touched by Jesus.

Although Sin is just like Leprosy; it contaminates deeper than the surface of the skin, it spreads, it affects your life by isolating you from God, from fellowship and ultimately from Heaven. Sin cuts us off from God.

Isaiah 59:2 (NLT) “It’s your sins that have cut you off from God. Because of your sins, he has turned away and will not listen anymore.”

But Jesus died so that we could all be healed from the disease of sin, and from the effects of sin. Jesus shed His blood upon the Cross so that we could to be set free from God’s wrath and anger and ultimately from His punishment for our sins, when we repent and trust Jesus as Lord and Saviour, then we’re set-free from sin to follow Jesus commands and teachings. He is willing to touch the untouchables today.

Have an awesome day, don’t be afraid to touch someone for Jesus today and be willing (as Jesus was) to be used by the Lord to reach out in love and touch some precious souls for Jesus. No matter who you may think is untouchable, they are all precious to the Lord Jesus, because Jesus gave His life for EVERYONE.

I’m praying that you’ll have a lovely day, learning to love like Jesus and touch your lepers’ hearts.

Don.

Not Hungry For Jesus?

Jesus can and will satisfy your deepest needs and desires

Daily Spirit & Word: 587:

NOT HUNGRY FOR JESUS?

The Root Causes of No Appetite For The Word of God or TIME with Jesus.

When God has promised: SATISFACTION GUARANTEED.

Isaiah 58:11 “The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.”

Good morning my friends, Have you ever tried to have a quiet time with Jesus and left feeling that you just hadn’t met with Him?

Or have you gotten out of bed early and determined to spend time with God in His Word only to finish that time feeling like you’ve not been fed?

What’s The Problem?

So many Christians know that they SHOULD be spending quality time with the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ, every single day, but so few do it regularly, they’re just NOT hungry for those times or for feasting upon God’s Word. Why? What’s the Problem?

Well my friends, steady your hearts, because the “REAL REASON” why MOST Christians DO NOT have consistent nourishing times with the LORD are; Lack of APPETITE. We’re just NOT hungering for it. And there are eye-opening reasons why.

Be Assured Of This: It’s NOT lack of Discipline: Because I know many good brothers ans sisters in Jesus who routinely get out of bed early, but who don’t get anything from it. So it’s NOT lack of Discipline.

However, there is a LACK OF APPETITE. There is NO HUNGER FOR GOD. My friends, we discipline ourselves to get up and read the Bible and Pray, but if we don’t have that necessary hunger for God, then it is because our affections have been drawn away to other loves. If we’re not getting fed by our time with the Saviour, then SOMETHING else has crept into our heart to become Number ONE, #1.

Here’s A Short List Of #1’s to Consider:

(there are many more possible candidates).

1) Coveting Craziness: The allure of THINGS: The things of this world are seductive and so easily pull our affection away from the LORD towards something that this world has to offer. We KNOW deep down in our hearts that we should not crave the things of this world, but somehow we’ve convinced ourselves, we talked ourselves into believing some adverts or something gets our attention.   (1 Timothy 6:10)

2) Sensual SEX: There I’ve said it 🙂 So many committed believers are bombarded with SEXUAL fantasies, so much so that they INDULGE in behaviour that they KNOW is simply WRONG for a follower of Jesus. They may not lead to actual sexual acts with another person, but they go places to indulge their fantasies: movies, the internet, magazines, books, the streets, parks etc…

It’s NOT easy to shake off that hunger for sexual gratification, but it’s POSSIBLE with Jesus and the POWER of the HOLY SPIRIT. (Genesis 6:1, 2, 5, 6; 2 Samuel 11:1-4; Job 31:7, 9; 2 Peter 2:14)

3) Sweating To Succeed: There’s a magnetic allure of winning the applauds of others, to look awesome in someone else’s eyes if we are just ‘SUCCESSFUL’ then we’ll be happy. We reason, “If I can just make a name for myself doing this …………. then I’ll be more than happy.”  (Ecclesiastes 2:4-11) There’s even a kind of ‘Christian’ success endeavour, being the ‘best’ Christian, but we’re NOT in competition with other believers, we’re all EQUAL in the eyes of the Lord, but being a ‘success’ in His eyes is often NOT the highest aim or focus on our agenda, but to look great in the eyes of others.

4) Aspiring For Approval: You know my friends, when we’re living for the approval of others, we’re NOT living to please the LORD. When we are seeking the approval of others we’re already wandering away from Jesus. (Matthew 22:16; Luke 16:15; Acts 5:29; Galatians 1:10; 1 Thessalonians 2:4). JESUS DID NOT LIVE FOR THE APPROVAL OF MEN, but only ever did what His Father told Him to do or say what His Father told Him to say. WHY? Because fulfilling God’s Mission on Earth was more important than His personal feelings or human desires. However, I’m certain that Jesus never had any human desires that were contrary to the will of the Father like we have.

Recently a young woman shared with me her personal struggle to get anything from her quiet times with Jesus. She was disciplined alright and got up early to read God’s Word and Pray and Praise the Lord, but was still feeling as if she hadn’t met with Him. I asked her what was happening in her life. What she loved or liked? If there was anything she longed for that she knew Father God would not approve of?

You see my friends, if we stop to consider what we’re doing, thinking or felling or fantasising about from day to day, we’ll be able to pinpoint what our HEART AFFECTIONS really are. If something else has crept in, in the place of our PASSION for Jesus.

SATISFACTION GUARANTEED.

Isaiah 58:11 “The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.”

That young woman shared with me; “I’ve been dreaming about being so rich that I wouldn’t have to go to work, can buy a big house and sit down and enjoy the rest of my life in luxury: so I’ve been buying the Lottery tickets every week”. Just one ticked can’t hurt anybody can it? I said, “It’s NOT the Lottery Ticket” “But what we’re DREAMING ABOUT DOING if we become rich”… or “Dreaming about what we don’t need to do”….

She’d also begun to ‘RESENT’ her employment. (Which had led to a deep-seated loathing for her boss) She hated the fact that she needed to go to work to earn money. My friends, there is NOTHING wrong with hard labour, in fact the Bible, God’s Word, tells us it’s GOOD for everyone to be busy and employed at something. Doing something useful with our hands, skills or gifts that your blessed LORD and Saviour has taken time to give you. We’re encouraged to WORK HARD for our Boss, even when his eye or her eyes are not looking over our shoulder.

You should have seen the look on that woman’s face when her eyes were opened. She told me the next week, “I’m meeting with Jesus every day and it’s AWESOME”…

My friends, if you would just prayerfully take time to check out your HEART AFFECTIONS, what’s most important in your life? Then you would easily detect the problem of a LACK OF APPETITE for time with Jesus. When your affections are right, you will be ON FIRE with LOVE for the Saviour. You’ll long to get your head off the pillow to meet with Him every single day.

QUESTION: How’s your appetite, hunger and longing for spending time with your Lord Jesus Christ?

Do you want to? Are you looking forward to it? Or has it become a drudgery? It it like an obligation? Has it become a duty rather than a JOY?

My friends, if your own times with Jesus have become; yuky, ugh, or blah, then do a SPOT CHECK, ROUTINE MAINTENANCE, ON YOUR HEART. Discover with Jesus where your HEART AFFECTIONS are heading. Repent and return to the Saviour of your soul.

SATISFACTION GUARANTEED.

Isaiah 58:11 “The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.

PRAYER: Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I realise that I’ve let other things creep into our relationship. I know that You desire my full attention and complete commitment. I don’t want anything to come between us. Please help me to identify what’s getting in the way and help me with the POWER and Presence of the Holy Spirit to break every chain that’s holding me back and sapping my desire and appetite and hunger to be with you every single day. Amen.

Answered Prayer: Like the woman mentioned above, you too can have your eyes opened by Jesus and you are going to see how awesome He is every day in your life. Do you KNOW the Saviour? Click this LINK to be sure that you are SAVED.

SATISFACTION GUARANTEED.

Isaiah 58:11 “The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.”

WHY? Why have I repeated the SATISFACTION GUARANTEED statement over and over again? Well, if you are born again of God’s Holy Spirit, then you will find satisfaction for ALL your needs and desires in Jesus. You will NEVER fail. You will always be FULL of the Holy Spirit. Even in this desert-like world, you will be over-filled with JOY: Guaranteed by God.

The LORD Grows His Church

Church Growth by Jesus

Daily Spirit & Word: 586:

The LORD Grows His Church

By; Calling, Guiding and Touching Hearts.

Acts 16 is amazing, it’s fast and furious, moving from one place to the next.

Paul’s Missionary Journey: After The Jerusalem Meeting. Travelling With Timothy and Silas.

Bible Readings: Acts 16:1-15.

1) Timothy Joins Paul and Silas. (Calling)

The Church Grew Daily In Numbers.

Acts 16:1-5 He came to Derbe and then to Lystra, where a disciple named Timothy lived, whose mother was a Jewess and a believer, but whose father was a Greek.

2  The brothers at Lystra and Iconium spoke well of him.
3  Paul wanted to take him along on the journey, so he circumcised him because of the Jews who lived in that area, for they all knew that his father was a Greek.
4  As they travelled from town to town, they delivered the decisions reached by the apostles and elders in Jerusalem for the people to obey.

5  So the churches were strengthened in the faith and grew daily in numbers.

NOTE: See Paul’s Letters to Timothy. (1 Timothy and 2 Timothy).

Church Grew Daily In Numbers:

When we go out in the Power of God’s Holy Spirit, to share Jesus, to live the Christian life and witness for Jesus, the Church will grow.

Notice: Paul, Silas and Timothy: Travelled from town-to-town delivering decisions: (That’s a reference back to Acts 15 Jerusalem Council: Note what the Council didn’t say: meet every day for Communion, Pray every week, Stand this way or sit that way: There were NO RELIGIOUS RITUALS: NONE!

What did they tell them to do: The Jerusalem Letter: (We actually have it in our Bibles).

Acts 15:23-29 With them they sent the following letter: The apostles and elders, your brothers, To the Gentile believers in Antioch, Syria and Cilicia: Greetings.

24  We have heard that some went out from us without our authorisation and disturbed you, troubling your minds by what they said. (Become Jewish, get circumcised, live by the Jewish traditions).
25  So we all agreed to choose some men and send them to you with our dear friends Barnabas and Paul—
26  men who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
27  Therefore we are sending Judas and Silas to confirm by word of mouth what we are writing.
28  It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us not to burden you with anything beyond the following requirements:

29  You are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality. You will do well to avoid these things. Farewell.

NOTHING Else, nothing about rituals or religious rites. They knew that when a person becomes a follower of Jesus, they’ll be filled with the Holy Spirit, will worship and gather together with the saints regularly and serve the risen Lord as He guides them.

As they delivered the message, they encouraged the brothers and sisters and the Church Grew Daily In Numbers. What was it that made the Church Grow? Encouragement & Strengthened Faith.

Gathering Together: Praying, Praising and Listening to God’s Word: Encourages and Strengthens our Faith.

It grows the church. (People spoke well of Timothy, therefore he was selected by Paul to come and what a journey Timothy had). Imagine: Being invited by Paul (the great Apostle) to come with him to share the Gospel from town to town. What a wonderful privilege that would have been. You can go too. (Every Wednesday We Go OUT to share Jesus on the Streets).

The Lord Grows His Church by Calling: Just as Timothy was called to join Paul and Silas, Is the Lord calling you to serve Him today?

2) The Man of Macedonia. (Guiding).

The Lord Grows His Church by Guiding by the Holy Spirit.

Acts 16:6-10 “Paul and his companions travelled throughout the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been kept by the Holy Spirit from preaching the word in the province of Asia.

7  When they came to the border of Mysia, they tried to enter Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus would not allow them to.
8  So they passed by Mysia and went down to Troas.
9  During the night Paul had a vision of a man of Macedonia standing and begging him, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.”

10  After Paul had seen the vision, we got ready at once to leave for Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them.”

On Friday: I had a meeting with Ministers from other Churches in West Norwood.

It was amazing (Read Yesterday’s Daily Spirit & Word).

But God HIMSELF: Encourages us, when we meet: In Jesus Name: For fellowship, prayer and praise.

He’ll guide us into what it is that He wants us to do.

AND by His Holy Spirit: What He doesn’t want us to do.

Are we listening out for what God wants?

Take a few minutes: to sit and think and pray: Ask God: “Father, what is it that You want me to be doing in my life for you?”

The LORD Grows His Church by Guiding Us by His Holy Spirit: Are we listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit today?

3) Lydia’s Conversion At Philippi (Touching Hearts).

(Note: Read Philippians).

The Lord Grows His Church by Touching Hearts.

Acts 16:11-15 “From Troas we put out to sea and sailed straight for Samothrace, and the next day on to Neapolis.

12  From there we travelled to Philippi, a Roman colony and the leading city of that district of Macedonia. And we stayed there several days.
13  On the Sabbath we went outside the city gate to the river, where we expected to find a place of prayer. We sat down and began to speak to the women who had gathered there.
14  One of those listening was a woman named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth from the city of Thyatira, who was a worshipper of God. The Lord opened her heart to respond to Paul’s message.

15  When she and the members of her household were baptised, she invited us to her home. “If you consider me a believer in the Lord,” she said, “come and stay at my house.” And she persuaded us.”

When We Come Together: Gathering for Prayer.

Those ladies gathered regularly at the river to pray. The Place of Prayer.

When Jews didn’t have a Synagogue, the met in open places (normally by a river) to pray.

I’m certain they didn’t expect to meet with God in such a way that day, but God’s ways are amazing.

When we come together, to meet with each other, to pray, to praise Jesus and to worship together. We’re going to be: Strengthened, Encouraged, Lifted. The Holy Spirit will draw us to put MORE faith, trust and commitment in Jesus.

Lydia: The Lord opened her heart to respond to Paul’s message: The Gospel.

Lydia: Practised Hospitality: Immediately she came to know Jesus. (That’s an indication that Jesus had touched her heart).

She was a wealthy business woman. Dealer in Purple: Purple Thyatira: Purple Cloth: Made from the shells of fish. A purple (indigo) dye that was very expensive. Purple was a very difficult colour to reproduce, it’s rarity made it expensive, but they’d discovered a way to get it. In some places only the very rich could afford the Purple Cloth.

My friends, when we come together, listen to God’s Word (The Teaching) we’re also going to have our hearts touched by the Lord as He did Lydia. “The Lord Opened Her Heart”… He can open up your heart too.

We all get hard-hearted, but just by coming and being in the hearing of God’s Word can and will open up our hearts to the Lord. He’ll do it.

The Lord Grows His Church by; Touching Hearts: Has the Lord been touching your heart today?

Conclusion:

Don’t Neglect The Gathering Together To Praise the LORD.

Hebrews 10:19-25 Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, 20  by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, 21  and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22  let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.

23  Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.
24  And let us consider how we may spur one another on towards love and good deeds.

25  Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

When we gather: (Calling) God will send us out into the world: With HIS message. (Timothy: Acts 16:1-5)

People will be encouraged, faith will be strengthened and the Church will grow.

When we gather: (Guiding) The Holy Spirit will guide us. (Macedonia: Acts 16:6-10) (Do this, go there, do that or don’t go, don’t do).

We’ll be encouraged and strengthened in our faith: We will grow as Christians, when we grow, the church grows.

When we gather: (Touching Hearts) People will hear the message.(Lydia Acts 16:11-15) God will touch hearts. People will be transformed. And the Church will grow.

The Lord Grows His Church by: Calling, Guiding by the Holy Spirit and by Touching Hearts.

I’m Praying: That He’s calling you, guiding you and touching your heart today.

Have an Awesome Week: Don’t neglect the gathering together of the saints, because you’ll be encouraged, you’ll grow in faith and the Church will grow, because The LORD builds His Church.

Don.

NOTES:

Objection: Some people say to us regularly as we go out onto the streets with the Gospel.

“I’m a Christian, but you don’t need to go to church to be a good Christian”

I almost always respond with “Yes you do!”

Why? Because IF you are a Christian, then you’ll want to be obedient to God. He commands that we “Don’t neglect the gathering together”, why? Because when we do, our faith can be shipwrecked.

If you are a real Christian, then you’ll have your “want to” changed, you’ll want to gather together, to; praise, worship, pray, study, listen, encourage, etc… You KNOW that it’s good for you. You KNOW it’s what the LORD wants. You KNOW that you will grow and the Church will grow as you gather with brothers and sisters in Jesus.

Don’t NEGLECT the Gathering Together… The LORD Builds His Church by; Calling, Guiding and Touching Hearts.

Faith NOT Fear: It’s a choice to believe God’s Promises

God is bigger than all our fears

Daily Spirit & Word, 584: Faith NOT Fear

“Risks and Dangers Are Real, but FEAR is a choice”

Good morning my friends, the Lord has been challenging me again today, about my fears. You know FEAR can be crippling?

Isaiah 41:10 (ANIV) “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

My friends, have you ever experienced a ‘crippling’ fear? A fear that was so bad that it stopped you doing something you knew that you should have done?

A friend told me the other day about how FEAR came upon him, but instead of listening to his fear, he overcame it and stepped out in faith. It was on a Tube Train in London. He saw a man and felt the Lord’s impulse to share something of Jesus with the man, but immediately FEAR gripped him. Fear of what others would think if he talked to someone on the train about Jesus. Praise the LORD! He managed to overcome that FEAR.

We’ve probably ALL had similar experiences when we felt the Lord prompting us to speak or to act, but we’ve rationalised it away.

How many more souls could be saved if we managed to conquer our fears? Those Demonic attacks that come when the Lord is moving us to act or speak?

I’ve had it too my friends and I’ve later repented and asked the Lord to forgive my weakness and fearfulness. I’ve listened to my fears too many times; now I am asking the LORD of Creation to assist me in overcoming my fears. It works you know or should I say the Lord works? He longs to give us the courage to be obedient to His prompting. Yes we still have to take the steps to say “NO” to our fears. And say “YES” to the Lord.

YES: It’s risky. YES: It takes courage. YES: You can do it: Because FEAR is a choice.

Here’s what listening to FEAR can do:

FEAR:

  • Clouds our judgment.
  • Paralyses our actions.
  • Causes us to delay, drag our heels, put-off what we should be doing now.
  • Makes us rationalise or Over-Spiritualise things: We’ll ask for signs like Gideon instead of trusting God when prompted.
  • Makes us paranoid: thinking the whole world will laugh at us or is against us.
  • Makes us irrational; we can loose our ability to analyse objectively.
  • Destroys our trust in others.
  • Doing or Acting for God: Fear Diminishes our ability to believe, to risk or act for God.
  • Pride: Makes us think too much about how we’ll look in the eyes of others.
  • Refuses to believe God is there; is in control, and can be trusted or taken seriously.

“Risks and Dangers Are Real, But FEAR is a Choice”

My friends, the LORD wants you and me to act in FAITH instead of listening to our FEARS.

How can we possibly overcome our FEARS when they arise? How can they be defeated?

Firstly: REMEMBER: Our battle is NOT against flesh and blood (not even your own flesh and blood) it’s against:

Ephesians 6:12-13 (NIV) “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13  Therefore put on the full armour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.”

FAITH

FAITH: Is to believe and act upon the promises of God.

FAITH: Is Trusting God’s Promises.

My friends, I’m praying for you all right now. If you are struggling with fear, battling fears, that you will be free, to find the Lord’s help. I’m praying that you’ll have the courage to believe God, to trust God, and rely upon ALL His promises. He’s with you, He will uphold you with HIS righteous right hand. Awesome!

PRAY: Pray this verse into your heart today: God Speaking to YOU!

“Let Your FAITH Be Bigger Than Your FEAR”

Isaiah 41:10 (NIV) “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Every blessing for a fantastic Friday and glorious weekend with Jesus.

Don.

NOTES: Verses from God’s Word: Promises to help you overcome your FEARS.

2 Timothy 1:7 (NIV) For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.”

Psalm 34:4 (NIV) “I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.”

Psalm 34:17 (NIV) “The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.”

Psalm 46:1-2 (NIV) God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. 2  Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,”

Psalm 46:10 (NIV) “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

Remember how Peter was walking on the water, but when he listened to his fears that he began to sink. Don’t look at the STORMS look to the Master of the waves, who walked on water and commanded the storms to subside. Jesus Christ is LORD over ALL Creation: Lord of Heaven and Earth.  (Matthew 14:22-34).

The Importance and The Cost of Discipleship

following Christ is costly, count the cost and follow Christ

Discipleship 2: The Importance and The Cost.

Good morning my friends, last night we began our Discipleship group again after the long summer break. Here’s the teaching; if you’d intended to come but couldn’t make it, don’t worry, we’ve only just started and need to go over it again.

A) Key Scriptures:

John 15:16: John 15:16 (NIV) “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.”

Luke 14:26-35 (NIV)  “If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters—yes, even his own life—he cannot be my disciple. 27  And anyone who does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple. 28  “Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost to see if he has enough money to complete it? 29  For if he lays the foundation and is not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule him, 30  saying, ‘This fellow began to build and was not able to finish.’ 31  “Or suppose a king is about to go to war against another king. Will he not first sit down and consider whether he is able with ten thousand men to oppose the one coming against him with twenty thousand? 32  If he is not able, he will send a delegation while the other is still a long way off and will ask for terms of peace. 33  In the same way, any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple. 34  “Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? 35  It is fit neither for the soil nor for the manure heap; it is thrown out. “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”

Matthew 28:18-20 (NIV) Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20  and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Matthew 10:37-39 (NIV)  “Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; 38  and anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. 39  Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

Luke 9:23 (NIV) “Then he said to them all: “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”

B) Why Discipleship?

i) The Lord Jesus Christ showed the importance of Discipleship by making the training of the twelve disciples a priority during the three and a half years of His public ministry on earth.

ii) Jesus Commissioned all His followers to train disciples becasue He intended fruit that lasts.

iii) Discipleship is the best method to reach our world for God. The impact that Jesus’ twelve disciples and Paul had on the world shows us the value of discipleship. A small number of committed disciples, who have been well trained, will achieve far more for God than large numbers of converts who lack spiritual depth. In fact, discipleship is God’s chosen strategy to reach the world. If one disciple led just one other person to Christ, and devoted a whole year to training her or him, and the followeing year both disciple and discipler each made one new disciple apiece, and the next year those four made four more (one each), then in about thirty-two years the whole world’s population would be saved – that’s according to plain mathematics, i.e. Multiplication instead of Addition.

iv) The end result is Spiritually mature Christians. Maturity does not come automatically with increase in age, knowledge or experience, but as a result of gradual Spiritual growth on the basis of obedience to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, His Word and by allowing Holy Spirit to transform us from within. The more open we are to His presence and power then the faster we’ll become a mature believer.

v) Many people foolishly assume that just because a person has been a Christian for a few years that they’ll be ‘mature’ believers. However, experience will soon reveal and has shown me that just because a person is SAVED it doesn’t mean that they are growing towards maturity in Christ. Sadly, many, countless thousands upon thousands, never grow-up and remain mere babes in Christ, simply because they didn’t get discipled. They don’t develop the faith muscles necessary to grow, they remain babes in Christ all their saved-lives. That’s NOT what God wants, He wants and has revealed it clearly in many places in His Word that He desires, commands and expects every believer to press-on towards maturity in the faith. And He’s also given us who are saved and mature the responsibility to Disciple others.

C) Seven Signs Of Spiritual Maturity:

i) Fruitfulness in our service for God (Matthew 25:14-30).

ii) A humble attitude and a willingness to serve others (John 13:12-17).

iii) A standard of excellence in our lives in general (2 Corinthians 13:11).

iv) A close and growing relationship with Jesus (Galatians 2:20).

v) The fruit of the Holy Spirit manifesting in our lives (Galatians 5:22-23).

vi) A stable, consistent and holy walk before God and man (Ephesians 4:11-16).

vii) A solid knowledge of God’s Word and discernment as a result (Hebrews 5:13-6:2).

NOTE: All of this can be summed up as “Christ-likeness”: Because as we grow in our faith and walk with Jesus we will be transformend into the likeness of Christ. 1 John 2:6.

NOTE: What it is NOT: Maturity is not about knowledge of ‘church’ politics, church procedures, church etiquette, church building or planting etc… Maturity IS Christlikeness.

NOTE: The first followers were given the nickname (a term of abuse at the time) Christians, because they took note of how much like Jesus his followers had become.

D) The Need For Spiritual Maturity:

i) Growth into maturity in Christ is what the Bible suggests is expected for all Christians (Ephesians 4:11-16).

ii) Without maturity there can be no leadership, and leaders are necessary for the Church to grow because they are the under-shepherds of God’s flock (1 Peter 5:1-3).

iii) Only mature Christians will be able to effectively stand against the devil and his powers of darkness and this is what God wants us to do (Matthew 12:29).

iv) Only mature Christians have a lasting impact for God on our world today.

v) It is only the mature disciple who, through his loving example, is able to convey the character of Jesus to the world.

Yesterday I was reading Philippians 1, where Paul was discussing the advancement of the Gospel whilst he was in prison. He revealed an amazing secret and last night one of those on our Discipleship Course stated; “I’ve come to realise that no matter what circumstance I’m going through, God has planed it for good. He’s helped me to see that it’s so simple, we just need to trust Him in everything”… You’ll never know how much I’ve been praying and longing to hear that from the lips of someone I’ve been teaching. (Soak yourself in Philippians 1 and 2 for a while and you’ll see)

E) REMEMBER.

Winning converts adds to the numbers of born-again believers, but only discipleship makes disciples who are mature, will reproduce and will in turn multiply the numbers of born-again believers and disciples.

We don’t just want to go for Addition, that easy to do, but for Multiplication.

Another member of our Discipleship Group stated last night: “For many years I’ve been going from church to church to get a blessing, to be prayed for, to get the ‘Super Pastor’ the Anointed to pray over me. In all those years I never changed one little bit, but now that I’ve committed myself to deeper fellowship, things in my life and my walk are beginning to change and I’m seeing what’s been missing. Now, though I’m tempted sometimes to go and do the rounds again, I don’t, I just ask my brothers and sisters to pray for me, Even my own brother who’s been a minister for years. It’s amazing how God is moving in my life.” Discipleship rather than focusing on converts works. Discipleship rather than numbers works.

F) The Cost of Being A True Disciple:

My friends, being a disciple or a follower of Jesus Christ is a very serious business. It is a costly thing, that’s how Jesus looked upon it. He didn’t start out by offering His followers a bed of roses. Jesus made it abundantly clear from the beginning what was involved. To be a disciple of Jesus we need to carry our own cross and follow Jesus (Luke 14:27). We need to give our whole lives and everything we have to God, for Him to use us as He wants.

G) Too Many Settle For Far Less Than God Wants For Them.

Most Christians have settled for a form of Christianity that requires little or no discipleship, it bears scant resemblance to Biblical Christianity or what Jesus obviously expected His own disciples to reproduce. He said, “Teach them to obey EVERYTHING I have commanded you…” How much should those who are discipling others teach them? EVERYTHING.

The result of this lack of discipleship is that we don’t become what God wants us to be; we’re failing to be the witnesses He’s looking for. His Word and His Teaching are being constantly compromised either through fear or a desire to fit in with the world. No wonder the ‘church’ is regarded as weak, not because we’re not strong physically or politically, but morally. Where is the Christlikeness?

It’s easy to follow someone who doesn’t expect that much from us, but God wants us to achieve so much more than we do ourselves, to be stronger than we are, to be more powerful than we are, to be even more effective at winning others than we’ve ever been. Let’s imitate the LORD Jesus as instructed: (1 Corinthians 11:1 and Romans 8:29). Remember Jesus said that we’ll do even greater things than He’d been doing, one of the ways is the time that we’ve been given, it may be longer than the three years that Jesus had whilst He was upon the earth, so we should be making every single year count.

H) Counting The Cost:

High Costs: Giving up your life to follow Christ. Are you ready?

Jesus taught this many times and in different ways.

Luke 9:57-62; John 6:60-66; Mark 10:17-31.

In view of the high cost of discipleship which Jesus demanded and required of His followers, a dedication that was complete, it is not surprising that He only ended up with a few deeply committed followers. BUT those few were enough to change the whole world. It’s obvious that you’ll get some who’ll drop-out, be led astray, fall away, but if you are aiming at maturity instead of simply conversion, then those who remain will be steadfast and they will be multiplying over the years.

Next Week:

We’re going to continue looking at the COST:

I’m sure, like me, you are wondering if you are up to the task. I almost gave up being a follower of Jesus when I first came to understand the full impact of His teachings, but in His grace, mercy and love, He showed me from His Word that though He expects and even commands this massive high standard, He knows what we are like, how fickle we are and how much we need His help and power to live one moment as a Disciple. So Jesus, thankfully, gives us the Holy Spirit and fellowship of the Saints in Christ to help us on our way. Thank Him for your Pastor, the Teachers, the Evangelists, the Prophets and Apostles that He calls and appoints afresh in each and every generation to assist you in growing towards maturity. Thank Him for the gifted brothers and sisters and fellow saints to build you up in your faith walk with Him. Finally, thank Him for His presence with you every day. He is in you if you are Born Again by His Spirit.

He’s not going to leave you alone. When you fail, and you will from time to time, get back down on your knees, seek His forgiveness, humble yourself before Him and He WILL LIFT you up again. (Because God humbles the proud, but gives grace to the humble). It’s awesome to be given room to fail and try and try and try again. Sometimes we get it wrong, but you are not really trying if you never fail. To be the best we possibly could be for Jesus, we’re going to have to come to terms with our own personality flaws, weaknesses and bad-habits that take time to break and to be moulded into the character that Christ wants to achieve in our lives. It’s always a JOY to know that He’s working in your heart, mind, soul and will. He’ll never stop until we reach glory or see Him when He returns in Glory.

Philippians 1:6 (NIV) “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

Let that be your motto and let God’s Spirit mould you.

  • What traits in your life is Christ working upon right now?
  • What personality flaws are you aware of that need transforming?
  • What ways has He begun to develop within you a NEW HEART?
  • What ways has He changed you already?

Give Thanks: Praise Him: Worship The LORD with gladness.

Have an AWESOME Wednesday.

I’m believing in God for my miracle

True Faith Hebrews 11:6

Daily Spirit & Word 583:

I’m Believing In God For My Miracle.

Good morning my friends, have you ever watched the so called ‘christian’ TV? I’ve put Christian with a small ‘c’ because it’s a strange version of Christianity on most of these shows. They ask people to send in money and believe God for their miracle, they ask people to show their faith by sowing a seed. Normally the seed (money) they are asking for is sown into their ministry: i.e. their luxury; house, car, jet, jewellery, suits, shoes and mansions etc… Am I being too cynical?

They equate faith with the size of the offering.

I feel so sorry for many sincere believers who are duped into thinking this is God’s way of faith.

So what is FAITH? or more importantly God’s WAY of faith?

It’s not so much how BIG your faith is in what you are believing God for, but in how BIG your God is.

Is your God able to do anything? The God of the Bible is.

Is your God able to heal or provide for all your needs? The God of the Bible is.

You see my friends, God is Jesus: We saw that yesterday and He could; walk on water, turn water into wine, raise the dead and come back to life Himself. Jesus is God and He’s AWESOME! He can do anything you could ever imagine, but:

When you’ve GOT FAITH in God: Then NOTHING is impossible.

Matthew 19:26  But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE FOR GOD.

Look through Hebrews and you’ll see what REAL faith is: The whole chapter (printed below) is all about the great heroes of our FAITH who were commended, not by men (though they are), but by God. God recognised that they were not simply trusting in blind faith, but had exercised active faith in HIM.

Remember Hebrews tells us: “Without faith it is impossible to please God” and it tells us why. The reason is not that we lack the ability to ‘believe’ strongly enough for what we want or desire, but we’re NOT trusting completely in HIM. Our vision of God is too small.

Hebrews 11:6  “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

He is a REWARDER of those who diligently seek HIM.

It’s NOT seeking what you want in life: It’s seeking HIM for who He is FIRST.

Remember Jesus ORDER OF PRIORITY: “Seek you first the Kingdom of God”

Seek first God and His Kingdom Priorities: Then you’ll see that God IS are REWARDER of those who diligently seek HIM.

When I hear about poor struggling brothers and sisters holding onto their wishes and not letting go of their own desires, it’s like they are putting their faith in their ability to persuade God to do something He’s reluctant to do. That’s not FAITH, it’s manipulation or as the Bible describes it, witchcraft. To manipulate God is the ultimate sin. To try and manipulate God is foolishness. For the Bible reveals that the God of the Word: is the God of His Word: He is faithful to all His promises and there are so many promises that God has made in His Word: However, each and every one of God’s promises comes with a principle or precept that we need to live by or seek first His Kingdom. When you say the Lord’s Prayer “Thy Kingdom Come” You are asking for God’s priorities, His Kingly desires to be done on earth, in your life. Is that what you are asking and believing God for?

What if it was God’s will that you don’t get what you so earnestly desire? What if He, in His Divine wisdom, knew that it would not be good for you to have what you want? God can and does say NO to our requests: He’s not our servant but our King. We serve Him, not He us. He is not like the gene in the lamp that we rub to get him to appear and do our bidding. He is God Almighty and we make contact with Him by faith in order to seek His will for our lives.

Yes we all want certain things in life: However, is it not better to simply TRUST that God knows what we need, to believe in His Fatherly goodness towards us and that He is a REWARDER of those who diligently seek Him and His Kingdom priorities.

If you find yourself in a position of wanting something; no matter what it is; job, house, baby, husband, girl or success. Then just let go of those things, even if it’s healing, and settle your heart with PEACE by deciding that no matter what, you are going to do all that you can to live according to God’s will. You are going to do everything in your power to live according to His Kingdom priorities and principles and precepts, then see if He’ll not open the floodgates of Heaven. God’s already revealed the way that we should live by faith, but doing what He’s commanded and revealed is His will for every follower of Jesus.

Yes may ask God for things, but then leave Him alone, trust, believe and hope in HIM alone, that He has heard your request and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him and His Kingdom. Amen!

So many Christians get STUCK, waiting for God to answer their prayers. Instead of being active about His Kingdom business. He’s heard your request, now say to God your loving heavenly Father; “OK Father, I’ve asked for ………….., now what is it that You want me to be busy doing today for Your Kingdom?” Live every day according to God’s Kingdom priorities, seek first His Kingdom (His Kingly Desires and Will) and you will be REWARDED. We don’t know what His rewards will be, it may be that He’ll grant you your heart’s desires or as I’ve found, more often than not, He’ll enable you to see how He’s already answered those prayers, but in His own ways. He has so much that He wants to give you and reveal to you.

It’s a transformation that we need: A Change of MIND-SET:

We need to change from; “I’m believing God for ‘my’ miracle” to “I’m believing God for ‘His’ miracles”.

Prayer: Yes my friends, I too am believing God for HIS miracles: I want to see sick people being healed, atheists come to faith, the poor being relieved, those who don’t have anyone to love them, being loved, children being taught God’s Kingdom, Christians being fed upon the solid meat of God’s Word; these are the miracles that I’m believing God for. And most importantly I’m believing God for this wonderful Miracle: “The harvest is ripe and plentiful, but the labourers are few” I’m believing God for the Miracle of more Labourers in His Harvest Field. Who’s going to come and do some reaping with me? Father please, send some Labourers, we need them Lord, the Harvest really is plentiful here in London and all over the world. People need to hear about Jesus; Father I know that You want more harvesters. Move them by Your Holy Spirit Lord. Amen!

Let go and let God: He’s in control. He’s never going to leave you. He’s got the whole universe under His power.

Have and Awesome Week: Believing God for His Miracles. Amen!

Don.

Bible Reading: Hebrews 11. FAITH.

Hebrews 11:1-40 (NIV)
1 Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. 2  This is what the ancients were commended for. 3  By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible. 4  By faith Abel offered God a better sacrifice than Cain did. By faith he was commended as a righteous man, when God spoke well of his offerings. And by faith he still speaks, even though he is dead. 5  By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death; he could not be found, because God had taken him away. For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God. 6  And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. 7  By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that comes by faith. 8  By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going. 9  By faith he made his home in the promised land like a stranger in a foreign country; he lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise. 10  For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God. 11  By faith Abraham, even though he was past age—and Sarah herself was barren—was enabled to become a father because he considered him faithful who had made the promise. 12  And so from this one man, and he as good as dead, came descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as countless as the sand on the seashore. 13  All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance. And they admitted that they were aliens and strangers on earth. 14  People who say such things show that they are looking for a country of their own. 15  If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had opportunity to return. 16  Instead, they were longing for a better country—a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them. 17  By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice. He who had received the promises was about to sacrifice his one and only son, 18  even though God had said to him, “It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.” 19  Abraham reasoned that God could raise the dead, and figuratively speaking, he did receive Isaac back from death. 20  By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau in regard to their future. 21  By faith Jacob, when he was dying, blessed each of Joseph’s sons, and worshipped as he leaned on the top of his staff. 22  By faith Joseph, when his end was near, spoke about the exodus of the Israelites from Egypt and gave instructions about his bones. 23  By faith Moses’ parents hid him for three months after he was born, because they saw he was no ordinary child, and they were not afraid of the king’s edict. 24  By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. 25  He chose to be ill-treated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a short time. 26  He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward. 27  By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger; he persevered because he saw him who is invisible. 28  By faith he kept the Passover and the sprinkling of blood, so that the destroyer of the firstborn would not touch the firstborn of Israel. 29  By faith the people passed through the Red Sea as on dry land; but when the Egyptians tried to do so, they were drowned. 30  By faith the walls of Jericho fell, after the people had marched around them for seven days. 31  By faith the prostitute Rahab, because she welcomed the spies, was not killed with those who were disobedient. 32  And what more shall I say? I do not have time to tell about Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel and the prophets, 33  who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and gained what was promised; who shut the mouths of lions, 34  quenched the fury of the flames, and escaped the edge of the sword; whose weakness was turned to strength; and who became powerful in battle and routed foreign armies. 35  Women received back their dead, raised to life again. Others were tortured and refused to be released, so that they might gain a better resurrection. 36  Some faced jeers and flogging, while still others were chained and put in prison. 37  They were stoned; they were sawn in two; they were put to death by the sword. They went about in sheepskins and goatskins, destitute, persecuted and ill-treated— 38  the world was not worthy of them. They wandered in deserts and mountains, and in caves and holes in the ground. 39  These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised. 40  God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect.

The Supremacy of Jesus

Jesus is the Supreme Being in the Universe today

Daily Spirit & Word, 582:

The Supremacy of Jesus Christ.

Good morning my friends, it’s so good to be back with you again. It was a wonderful holiday with Julie; we’ve seen family, visited friends and places around London and taken time to make-and-mend in the house and garden. However, I’ve seen that following Jesus requires that we’re constant with Him. We need Him every day, but why do we need Jesus so much in life today? Are you convinced that you need Jesus? Let’s see what God’s Word tells us about Him: Let’s refresh ourselves with the written testimony about our Lord and Saviour.

Our Bible Reading Today:

Colossians 1:15-23
15  He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. (Born on Earth as a man: The True Image of God)
16  For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. (Jesus is the Creator).
17  He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. (He sustains the Universe).
18  And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.
19  For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, (Jesus was always; fully God).
20  and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. (His sacrificial death brings PEACE through His blood).
21  Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behaviour.
22  But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation— 23  if you continue in your faith, established and firm, not moved from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant.

Jesus IS The Supreme Being: He IS God.

He said to Philip, “If you’ve seen me you’ve seen the Father” John 14:9

In context: to Doubting Thomas’ questions about where Jesus is going.

What more can we say about Jesus?

James Allan Francis (1864-1928). DD (One Solitary Life)

Here is a man who was born in an obscure village, the child of a peasant woman.

He grew up in another obscure village, where He worked in a carpenter shop until He was thirty, and then for three years He was an itinerant preacher. He never wrote a book. He never held an office. He never owned a home. He never had a family. He never went to college. He never put his foot inside a big city. He never traveled two hundred miles from the place where He was born. He never did one of the things that usually accompany greatness. He had no credentials but Himself. He had nothing to do with this world except the naked power of His divine manhood. While still a young man, the tide of public opinion turned against Him. His friends ran away, one of them betrayed Him, one of them denied Him. He was turned over to His enemies. He went through the mockery of a trial. He was nailed to a cross between two thieves. His executioners gambled for the only piece of property He had on earth while He was dying—and that was his coat. When he was dead He was taken down and laid in a borrowed grave through the pity of a friend. Nineteen wide centuries have come and gone and today He is the centerpiece of the human race and the leader of the column of progress. I am far within the mark when I say that all the armies that ever marched, and all the navies that ever sailed, and all the parliaments that ever sat, all the kings that ever reigned, put together have not affected the life of mankind upon this earth as powerfully as has that One Solitary Life: Jesus Christ.

  • So Jesus never wrote a book: But today there are more books about Jesus than any other figure in the history of mankind.
  • He only had a handful of followers when He died, but now countless millions name Jesus as LORD and it’s still the fastest growing religion in the world.
  • Jesus splits the History of Mankind: BC & AD…

What more can we say about Jesus?

He is Supreme: But what does that mean to you and me?

1) Jesus Reveals God To Mankind:

Before Jesus came God was just an idea, but upon His arrival upon the earth, He became an ICON (The exact representation of God the Father on the Earth).

We all know what ICONS are:

Take out your mobile phone, if you have one, look at the screen, you’ll see little Icons that represent different things; Calendar, Contacts, Facebook, Twitter, Photos,  etc. You know that these Icons represent all your information; you can just click on one of those Icons and they’ll take you to your desired information, right?

  • If I click Calendar, I can see all my upcoming appointments.
  • If I click Contacts and know where all my friends live.
  • If I click Facebook I can see what all my friends have been sharing with the world.
  • If you come to Jesus, If you connect with Jesus, the ICON of God, you connect immediatly with the Father.

Jesus said:

Matthew 11:27  “All things have been committed to me by my Father. No-one knows the Son except the Father, and no-one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”

Look at those words carefully, “No-one knows the Son, No-one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal Him”… i.e. You can’t KNOW GOD by any other way than by coming to Jesus Christ.

That’s why Jesus said, “I AM the Way, and the Truth and the Life” John 14:6.

It not by reason, but by revelation. You can’t discover God the Father by human reason alone, you’ll never argue a person into the Kingdom of Heaven, they, you and I and everyone needs a REVELATION of God by Jesus Christ, even today.

That’s why Jesus is your ICON: Click / Connect with Jesus and you’ll discover God the Father.

Colossians 1:15 and 19:  “He is the image (ICON) of the invisible God,” and “God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him”.

Children Ask: “What does God look like?”

I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve had schoolchildren come into St Luke’s and ask me that question: “What does God look like?” My answer is always the same, “He’s exactly like Jesus” When Jesus wan on the earth, He said, “If you’ve seen me, you’ve seen my Father”. “The Only way to see the Father is by coming to me”. Do you want to see what God looks like? Then come to Jesus by faith.

2) Jesus IS the Creator:

Look with me at verse 16 of our Bible reading today:

Colossians 1:16 “For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him.” (Jesus is the Creator).

a) Jesus Is The POWER of His Creation:

John tells us the same thing about Jesus: John 1:3

John 1:3 3  “Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.”

NOTHING was there before Jesus made it. NOTHING. He made the whole UNIVERSE out of NOTHING.

Now, we can’t do that can we, we can’t make an Egg out of nothing. We can’t even make a mud-pie out of nothing, we need dirt and water to make mud-pies. Jesus made it ALL out of NOTHING.

That’s why Jesus could: Walk on water, make wine out of water, heal the sick and raise the dead back to life again, because in Him is LIFE, He is the Creative POWER behind everything.

Jesus is the Power of Creation, but Jesus is also the Preserver of His Creation.

b) Jesus Preserves His Creation:

Look with me at verse 17 of our reading today;

Colossians 1:17 “He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.”

DARK MATTER: Scientists for years have been trying to discover “DARK MATTER” the missing force in the universe. They call it ‘Dark Matter’ because they can’t see it or even find it, but they know it’s there. My friends, it’s the most massive missing force, but the Bible reveals what that force that keeps the whole universe together is. “It’s Jesus”. He’s the super-glue that keeps it all together. He’s not dark-matter though, He’s the Light of the Universe. He’s the Light of the world. In Him there is NO Darkness at all. “In HIM all things hold together”…

When you are getting married, you cleave to your husband. A husband cleaves to his wife. The CLING (HOLD) together. That which God has joined together, let not man separate. Stuck together forever by God. Jesus holds ALL THINGS together.

c) Jesus is the Purpose of His Creation:

He did it all for Himself.

“It’s NOT about you” We’d like to think the universe revolves around and about us, but let’s get a reality check this morning my friends, Jesus made the whole of CREATION for Himself.

Verse 16:  “For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him.”

“All THINGS were Created by HIM and for HIM”… WOWzer! That’s an awesome REVELATION isn’t it? Jesus is the PURPOSE of the UNIVERSE. He’s not just the Power of the Creation, He’s not just the Glue of Creation, He’s the Purpose of His Creation too.

3) Finally, Jesus is the RECONCILER OF HIS CREATION.

Let’s remind ourselves of the last few verses of our Bible reading today;

Colossians 1:20-23  “and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

Jesus RECONCILED All Things: In heaven and on the Earth.

Do you know what ‘reconciled’ means? It means to bring-back-together again. Be made one with another. To bring into alignment again. Like Iran and the UK opening up the British Embassy in Tehran again. After many years of being without an Ambassador in Iran, Britain and Iran have been RECONCILED. Brought back together again.

A husband and wife: who’d been having difficulties in their marriage, finally got back together, they were RECONCILED after years of struggle and their LOVE is stronger now that it’s ever been.

You and me: If you’ve come to TRUST Jesus as your Saviour and Lord: He has reconciled you to God the Father.

We were separated from God, why? The reading tells us; “because of your evil behaviour”.

Now you’ll get offended; “I’m NOT evil” I can hear the gears in your mind whirring and twirling right now. “I’m NOT evil”… However, the Bible tells us that we ARE until we’ve been RECONCILED by the Lord Jesus Christ.

How are we ‘evil’? What is ‘evil’? Evil is the force behind rebellion and disobedience. We’ve all rebelled against God, we’ve all be disobedient to His Commands.

That’s why we need Jesus: It’s not that He’s just made the whole Creation, the He’s the Power, the Preserver and the Purpose of His Creation, but He’s also the ONLY ONE who could bring His Creation back to Himself once again. He is the only way back to God the Father: That’s why Jesus came to His Creation.

He came and He died: He shed His innocent blood: In order that He might SAVE those that He’d Created.

Conclusion:

My friends, we’ve seen the Majesty of Jesus, but now I want to show the Mystery of Jesus: He came to His Creation to SAVE Mankind.

Isaiah reveals a little secret that we’ve been looking at today;

Isaiah 33:22  “For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; it is he who will save us.”

  • Jesus is your Judge: He’s coming back again to Judge the Living and Dead.
  • Jesus is your LAW giver: He gave us the 10 Commandments. So that we could see our need of a Saviour. We’ve failed that Law and will be judged Justly by the LORD according to it.
  • Jesus is the KING: The Lord is your King. One day every knee will bow before Him. Let’s do it NOW before it’s too late and we leave this earth without bowing before the LORD our King whilst we’ve still got a chance.
  • Jesus is the SAVIOUR: “is is HE who will save us”. He died so that you might be saved from God’s wrath.

So my friends, I plead with every single on of you today, be RECONCILED to God. Jesus is the Creator, He is the Power of Creation, The Preserver of Creation, The Purpose of Creation but He’s also the Reconciler of His Creation. Will you be reconciled to God: Come, come to Jesus Christ right now. Don’t wait. Trust Him. Receive Him. Repent and trust the Only Saviour of Mankind today. He’s not Dark Matter, but the Light of Life the Creator who knitted you together in your mother’s womb.

We sang this song today:

“This Kingdom” It’s all about our King Jesus.

Jesus
The expression of God’s love
The grace of God, the Word of God
Revealed to us
Jesus, God’s holiness displayed
Now glorified, now justified
His kingdom comes.

What an Awesome Hymn of Praise to Jesus.

Can we sing it and mean it today?

I’m praying that all my brothers and sisters in Jesus will have an awesome time of worship today.

I’m praying for everyone that I know who has yet to come to Jesus in faith and trust, turning from sin to be saved by Him, the LORD of all Creation.

I’m praying for our Nation today, we need to KNOW Jesus afresh in the UK. We need to know our need of Jesus.

I’m praying for the World today, the world that Jesus made, because the world needs to know the Creator and why He came to the Earth.

I’m praying for Christians today, that they’ll be fired up with the Gospel (Good News: that Jesus wants all people to be saved). That every Christian will be so full of Jesus love that they’ll leak that love everywhere they go.

I’m praying the LORD’S Prayer today: Thy Kingdom Come on Earth as it is in Heaven. Amen!

Have an awesome day with Jesus in the power of the Holy Spirit.
