422: God Sends Helpers.

 422 Helpers
God Sends His Helpers.
When we are determined to live for Him.

Good morning my friends. Oh it’s very cold out this morning, a little peppering of snow on the grass, but lovely to look at. It’s funny how just a little sprinkling of snow changes the whole landscape and reveals things previously unnoticed ūüėČ
Yesterday we finished with a question, “Will the young Jewish boys be able to sustain their faith in an alien culture?” and also applied it to ourselves, “Will we be able to maintain the Christian faith in a culture that’s¬†becoming¬†increasingly intolerant of committed, Bible believing and evangelistic followers of Jesus?” Last night at our prayer meeting, that prayer was somewhat answered, there’s a growing determination and desire to bring about REVIVAL in our people, in our church and in our Land. Praise the LORD!
How did the Jewish boys fare? Well first we read yesterday how the Babylonians changed their names;
Daniel 1:7   The chief of staff renamed them with these Babylonian names:
Daniel was called Belteshazzar.
Hananiah was called Shadrach.
Mishael was called Meshach.
Azariah was called Abednego.
It’s funny to me how we remember the other three boy’s new Babylonian names; Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, but the best name is Daniel’s; Beltshazzar, yet we still call him Daniel ūüôā
Let’s play a game this morning; We’ll have a go at changing the Babylonian name. Let’s break it down; Baby and Lonian… The first part is easy; Baby and the second part brings a smile to my face; Loonies… So we have Baby-Loonies… ūüôā I know, I know, “What a weird sense of humour you have Donald”, but let not forget that they really did change those boys names. They repeatedly called them by their new name and over the years they started calling one another by their new Babylonian names.
Today, we’ll notice that not only were these boys;¬†without any physical defect, handsome, showing aptitude for every kind of learning, well informed, quick to understand, and qualified to serve in the king’s palace, they were also determined to preserve their individuality, integrity and faith in the Lord God Jehovah too.
Daniel 1:8-16
8  But Daniel was determined not to defile himself by eating the food and wine given to them by the king. He asked the chief of staff for permission not to eat these unacceptable foods.
9  Now God had given the chief of staff both respect and affection for Daniel.
10¬†¬†But he responded, ‚ÄúI am afraid of my lord the king, who has ordered that you eat this food and wine. If you become pale and thin compared to the other youths your age, I am afraid the king will have me beheaded.‚ÄĚ
11  Daniel spoke with the attendant who had been appointed by the chief of staff to look after Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah.
12¬†¬†‚ÄúPlease test us for ten days on a diet of vegetables and water,‚ÄĚ Daniel said.
13¬†¬†‚ÄúAt the end of the ten days, see how we look compared to the other young men who are eating the king‚Äôs food. Then make your decision in light of what you see.‚ÄĚ
14  The attendant agreed to Daniel’s suggestion and tested them for ten days.
15  At the end of the ten days, Daniel and his three friends looked healthier and better nourished than the young men who had been eating the food assigned by the king.
16  So after that, the attendant fed them only vegetables instead of the food and wine provided for the others.
It was an immense privilege to be given the exact same food as the King of the Babylonian Empire every day. They ate the food from the King’s table… WOWzer.
Reminds me of a time when I was in the Royal Navy and the Queen came aboard my ship, HMS Ark Royal in 1977 during the Silver Jubilee Year. She had a banquet¬†on-board. I was not invited though ūüôā but I was in a position to observe proceedings because I was standing by in case something¬†happened¬†to the Electrics during the event. I could see the queen at her table with hundreds of other people all over the Hanger. I asked one of the Stewards to bring us some food from the Queen’s table, she didn’t eat much, so we had the Queen’s lobsters, they tasted awesome, we had the food the Queen didn’t eat…
Those boys were given the privilege of actually being¬†victualled¬†in, they were expected to eat the King’s food, so the chief steward was frightened when Daniel and his friends refused to eat it. Daniel was very wise though, as stated yesterday, they were wise enough to choose their ‘spiritual’ battles wisely. In verse 12 we read, Daniel said, “Please test us for ten days on a diet of vegetables and water”. It was a suggestion that seemed reasonable, a period of testing, to see if they fared well without the King’s food.
Why did Daniel refuse to eat the King’s food? Well he probably knew enough about the preparation of the food, that it would have been sacrificed and offered to the Pagan gods of the Babylonians first, by eating it,¬†Daniel¬†believed he’d be contaminating or defiling the temple of his body. He was part of God’s chosen people upon the earth, they Jews had strict¬†dietary¬†prohibitions and Daniel and his friends knew the LORD’S commands regarding unclean food. They were determined to remain pure in this regard.
Notice how God had prepared the way for Daniel and his friends: Verse 9 “Now God had given the chief of staff both respect and affection for Daniel.” Respect and Affection: The chief steward had respect for Daniel, that must have included Daniel’s faith and trust in the LORD. Obviously over the long journey from Jerusalem to Babylon, it would have taken many days to travel, he’d built up a relationship and Daniel had earned his respect and affection.
You’ll notice this same thing happens time and again in the Bible, when God’s people are in great need, He’s there for them, He sends his helpers alongside His chosen people: Moses had Aaron to help him speak, Eli was sent Samuel when his own sons didn’t perform for the Lord, David had the respect and admiration of King Saul’s son and 50 fighting men, Elijah had his Elisha, and our Lord’s Disciples were sent out in twos… You ARE NOT ALONE in an Alien Culture my friends.
My friends, don’t be surprised by this, the LORD can prepare the way for you in this alien world, He can give you friends and support from places you’d never choose yourself. People will come to your aid and you’ll be astonished how the LORD moves in your life sometimes. I had that so many times now, that though I’m always overjoyed and thankful, I’m not totally surprised. The LORD has promised good to you, those who love the LORD Jesus Christ and are determined to serve Him with their lives. Be prepared to be looked after, to win the affection and respect of some of the people in the world, who don’t yet belong to the Lord’s family.
Even now the LORD is putting in place in Government people who’ll speak up for Christian rights, He’s bringing people into your life whom He’s prepared many years ago, they are strategically placed and positioned by the LORD to help you in times of need. But don’t trust in them, keep your focus upon the LORD.
For me the moral of today’s focus is this; Though this world may seem like an alien place, God has not left you completely to your own devices, skill or strength. God will prepare the way for you when you determine to live your life for Jesus Christ in the world. He will make provision for you when the time of¬†crisis¬†comes, but all you have to do is trust in Him and live for Him as Daniel and Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego did.
Think back over your Christian walk and you’ll soon see how the LORD has been watching out for you too.
Be filled with God’s Holy Spirit for the walk and work He’s given you today,

Free At Last

Daily Spirit & Word, 311: Free At Last

Thank God Almighty, I’m Free At Last.

Knowing the Lord Jesus sets us free from; Sin, the Law, the World and the Devil.

Good morning my friends, I’m a bit late today because we had some bad new yesterday (I’ll share later), but we’ve also been busy with some good things too; Youth Club last night in the Church and our Grandchildren have come to stay for the weekend as well. So I’m a wee bit tired this morning. However, the LORD is so gracious, as I was reading Galatians today new light has been shed abroad in my heart. It’s fantastic they was the Bible opens up to us. I’ve read Galatians countless times since I came to know Jesus, but every day now, there’s something new within it’s pages jumping out at me. Fresh revelations of either God’s heart for His people, the Lord Jesus Christ’s sacrifice for us and how free the Lord wants us to be in this world or some fresh insight into how I’m doing in my walk with Jesus. I was wondering, what LIGHT is the Lord giving to you as you delve into His Word?

Galatians 3:25-27 (NIV)¬†25¬†¬†Now that faith has come, we are no longer under the supervision of the law. (the Law is no longer our Schoolmaster it’s purpose was to show us Christ the Saviour, once we’ve put our trust in Him we’re free from the Law’s demands.) that because; now read verses 26-27.

26 You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus,
27  for all of you who were baptised into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.
First my friends, the Apostle Paul declares God’s Word to us, that we are free from the Law. Jesus Christ fulfilled the Law for us. We can now live the Christian life with joy and safety under Christ. We’re safe from the condemnation of the Law. However, there’s TROUBLE, becuase our flesh will not let us believe in Christ with all our heart. You see my friends, the fault is not with Jesus Christ, but with us, those who’ve trusted in Him. You see my friends, we’ve still got Sin clinging to us as long as we live in this body and it can spoil our happiness, freedom, joy and peace in the Lord Jesus Christ. That’s because whilst we’re here on earth we are only partly free from; sin, the world, the flesh, the Law and the devil.¬†¬†Romans 7:25 (NIV) “Thanks be to God‚ÄĒthrough Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God’s law, but in the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin.” As we read more and more of the Bible you’ll discover that we’ve got a dual personality my friends, a bit like Pinocchio who had a good and bad angel upon his shoulders, we too have within us the Holy Spirit and our Earthly Fleshly Spirit and the Bible tells us they are in constant conflict with one another, the one that we listen to or pay attention to or feed will be the one that we obey.
However, the LIGHT shining in my heart afresh today, the TRUTH that sets us FREE, is that we ARE God’s children when we come to faith in Jesus. More than that, we’re clothed with the Lord Jesus Christ. As soon as we RECEIVE Jesus by faith, we put on the righteousness of Jesus, we’re covered by Him, we’re protected.

So in the battle of the Flesh and Spirit who wins? It’s determined by who we listen to more, if we keep feeding our fleshly nature, it will win this battle and we’ll be drawn further and further away from the Lord, but He’ll never let us go completely because we’ve trust Him, He’s faithful and will complete the work within us that He’s begun. But when I’m following my flesh, when anyone does it, all we get is; guilt, fear, condemnation, lack of peace and joy in life.

The opposite is true when we’re filled with the Holy Spirit and listen to His voice within, He awakens our conscience, he’s shouting and guiding and leading and showing us the way of peace. When we listen to His Holy voice within, we’re set free, there’s JOY, Happiness, Peace, Security, Freedom from Condemnation, Purpose for living every single day. Even if, like Paul, we’re hard-done-by, thrown into prison, beaten,¬†shipwrecked, car-crashed, plane-crashed, loose our job, loose our love in life when relationships crumble, with the Holy Spirit we can still experience real PEACE n JOY through all these things. Hard though life is sometimes, there’s so much power in Jesus He’ll carry us through anything my friends.

Who are you listening to today? The battle also gets much easier the more you listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit. You’ll recognise your Flesh creeping in to try and take control more easily. You can identify Satan’s attacks, and the world holds less and less attraction to you. Jesus is setting you free and the freedom grows day by day the more you listen to the voice of God’s Holy Spirit within…

When your faith is growing; sin, the world, the law, the flesh, the devil grow weaker in their ability to influence and control you.¬†So you can shout and answer your flesh and all the others with this cry; “I’m a child of the living God, I belong to Jesus, I’m filled with the Holy Spirit, I’ve been set free from you, I’m not yours anymore, I belong to the family of God and I’m not going to feel guilty any longer”. Take your stand against the devil and his schemes my friends and you’ll discover greater measures of Freedom, Joy and Peace within.

Have an awesome Saturday in Jesus.

We’re going to have a fantastic day with our grandchildren, even though rain and wind are forecast, we’re still going to have so much fun together. Joy in the Lord my friends.

Let Your Light Shine: Tabernacle

Daily Spirit & Word. 187: Let Your Light Shine

The Tabernacle Furniture: The Golden Lampstand.

Exodus 25:31-40 (NIV) 31¬†“Make a lampstand of pure gold and hammer it out, base and shaft; its flowerlike cups, buds and blossoms shall be of one piece with it. 32 ¬†Six branches are to extend from the sides of the lampstand‚ÄĒthree on one side and three on the other. 33 ¬†Three cups shaped like almond flowers with buds and blossoms are to be on one branch, three on the next branch, and the same for all six branches extending from the lampstand. 34 ¬†And on the lampstand there are to be four cups shaped like almond flowers with buds and blossoms. 35 ¬†One bud shall be under the first pair of branches extending from the lampstand, a second bud under the second pair, and a third bud under the third pair‚ÄĒsix branches in all. 36 ¬†The buds and branches shall all be of one piece with the lampstand, hammered out of pure gold. 37 ¬†“Then make its seven lamps and set them up on it so that they light the space in front of it. 38 ¬†Its wick trimmers and trays are to be of pure gold. 39 ¬†A talent of pure gold is to be used for the lampstand and all these accessories. 40 ¬†See that you make them according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.

Oh my friends, this is really wonderful today. I’m fascinated with all the details that have gone into the making of the Tabernacle furniture; The Ark, the Cover (Mercy Seat or Throne of God), the Table of Presence and now the Golden Lampstand with seven lamps.

From many others places in God’s Word we discover more about the function of this Lampstand, but surely the most significant is for us to remember that the Tabernacle is just a shadow or mirror of the real Tabernacle in Heaven; Jesus said, “I AM the Light of the world.” It is also said in Isaiah and John “The LIGHT shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not overcome the light”. “The People walking in DARKNESS have seen a great light” Remember when the Israelites moved camp the Lord went ahead of them in a special revelation of His presence with them; A Pilar of Cloud by day and a Pilar of Fire by night. So that when they walked in darkness they’d see the great light. Ah my friends this is such a comforting word.

Let’s look a little at the significance of the way the Golden Lampstand was made;

The Golden Lampstand was to be made from one solid lump of gold. In the book of Revelation 1:9-20, ¬†we observe that our Lord stands in the midst of seven lampstands, these represent the seven churches of Asia Minor in the Apostle John’s day. In the Tabernacle, there was just one lampstand, beaten out of one talent of pure gold, representing the one nation of Israel and its witness to the world. However, the Lampstand was inside the Holy Place and only the Priests and the LORD God could see it burning. Though the church of the Lord Jesus Christ is one people, we spread the light through many individual assemblies and gatherings in many places all over the world.

Oil for the Lamps:

“Give me oil in my lamp keep me burning, give me oil in my lamp I pray”

The lights in the seven lamps on the lampstand were fed by oil that was specially prepared for that purpose (Ex. 27:20-21). Just as the people brought the fine flour for the baking of the loaves to be put on the Golden Table of Presence, so they brought clear oil for the maintaining of the lights on the Golden Lampstand (Ex. 25:27-28; 35:10, 14).

Zechariah 4:1-4 informs us that this oil in the Lampstand symbolises the Holy Spirit of God,

Zechariah 4:1-6 (NIV)

1¬†Then the angel who talked with me returned and wakened me, as a man is wakened from his sleep. 2 ¬†He asked me, “What do you see?” I answered, “I see a solid gold lampstand with a bowl at the top and seven lights on it, with seven channels to the lights. 3 ¬†Also there are two olive trees by it, one on the right of the bowl and the other on its left.” 4 ¬†I asked the angel who talked with me, “What are these, my lord?” 5 ¬†He answered, “Do you not know what these are?” “No, my lord,” I replied.

6 ¬†So he said to me, “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD Almighty.

WOWzer! Don’t you know that without the Holy Spirit within us and His power we can’t glorify Christ (John 16:14) or effectively witness of Him (Acts 1:8). “Without Me,” said Jesus, “you can do nothing” (John 15:5, nkjv). or “Apart from me, you can do nothing” We need the oil in our lamps to keep burning, we need to keep being filled and refilled with God’s Holy Spirit every day. It’s an ongoing walk with the Lord, as His Holy Priests today, it’s our duty to be so filled with His Spirit that we’ll shine the light automatically wherever we go.¬†1 Peter 2:9 (NIV) “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”

What was done by the priests in secret the sanctuary, the people could never see them doing it, it was done for the Lord (Ex. 28:1, 3-4, 41; 29:1) and before the Lord (Exodus 27:21; 40:25; Leviticus 24:4). It didn’t matter that the people in the camp were unaware of what the priests were doing inside, because God saw it all, and their task, their duty, their privilege and joy was to please Him.

Keep your LIGHT Shining, be continually full of the Holy Spirit my friends, because the most important part of a Christian’s life is the part that only the LORD God Almighty sees. If God is pleased by what He sees you doing in your private life, and your conscience is clean before Him, then you don’t have to worry about what people think or say about you (1 Cor. 4:1-5). He will accept your ministry and bless it. Be filled afresh with the anointing oil of the presence and power of the Holy Spirit today and you’ll be shining for Jesus Christ bringing Him glory by the good things that you do. God’s got so much good planed for you today. Enjoy the day in His mighty power.

P.S. Someone asked me the other day; “Don, you keep saying be filled with the Holy Spirit, I get that, but can you please tell me how to do it?”

Oh my friends, God’s longing to give you the Holy Spirit, we just need to claim what He longs to give. All we do need to ASK to be filled. God will not give you anything extra unless you ask Him for it. Here’s how to begin: Pray: O Heavenly Father, please send the Holy Spirit into my life and fill me up as much as I need, fill me until I overflow with His presence and power. In the name of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ I ask you Father. Amen” Your Heavenly Father longs to fill you my friend. Receive the Holy Spirit in faith and watch what He does in and through you throughout the day. Keep a journal and make notes of your prayers and petitions and your encounters throughout the day. You’ll be amazed what God will do in and through you. He’s¬†longing¬†to get you all fired up today.

Must look into: Almond flowers, buds and blossoms. = Any ideas what these signify on the Lampstand ????

P.P.S Julie and I could hear the cheering from the football match between Crystal Palace and Liverpool last night and we’re over three miles away from the¬†stadium. We found out today that Palace were 3-1 down, but scored another two goals towards the end of the match to equalise with Liverpool. Awesome! Imagine how loud the cheer will be throughout the earth when the Lord Jesus Christ returns in all His glory.

Jesus said, “I AM the Light of the World”

Daily Spirit & Word. 138: Jesus said, ‚ÄúI AM the Light of the Word‚ÄĚ.

“He who follows me will never walk in darkness” John 8:12.

Good morning my friends, what an absolutely glorious day yesterday; The SON was Shining; first at Dulwich Park with our grandchildren, sliding, climbing, swinging and ice-creams, then in the evening with one of our Old folks from St Luke’s Church, Sybil was celebrating her 90th Birthday with family and friends, I was invited to speak and open the evening in prayer. Sybil knows her Bible, and whenever I read with her, she mouths the verses along with me (I’ve got to read from the King James Version though). She’s got the light of Jesus in her and I always come away from her home more encouraged, blessed and strengthened in my own faith walk with Jesus. Oh my friends, how we need old saints who love the Lord.

Today we’re thinking again about Jesus and how He’s revealed to us by the Apostle John; we’re thinking about Chapter 8 where Jesus is revealing how He is the Light of the World. We’ll be discovering how that applies to us today and how much we need the light;

In John 8:12 we see that Jesus made; A GREAT CLAIM and A GREAT PROMISE.

John 8:12 (NIV) When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Introduction: Every human has a great need. However, they are not always aware of it, but the need is still there. Human beings are walking in the darkness. How?

⇒  Mankind cannot see into the future nor into the next world.

⇒  Mankind cannot see God, who He is and what He is like.

⇒  Mankind cannot see the real meaning, significance, and purpose of life.

⇒  Mankind cannot grasp perfect knowledge nor assurance of eternal life.

Therefore, man’s greatest need is to see “the Light of the world.”

Thankfully, the Greatest Need of Mankind is met by Discovering that Jesus Christ IS the LIGHT of the WORLD. Because when that need is met we get the awesome promises of God embedded into the depths of our souls; “We’ll never walk in darkness, and we will have the light of life.

Many old hymns have been written about the experience of OLD SAINTS who’ve suddenly come from the ‘Darkness into the LIGHT of Christ’. (See end of today’s message).

We also have many more hymns; of the experience of Living in the Light and Not walking in Darkness.

To see what life is like in the Light, we first need to peer into the Darkness, to see what life is like in the Darkness.

A Dire WARNING: In almost every chapter of John there are many revelations about who Jesus is and why he had come into the world, but equally there are also many promises in those chapters that encourage and strengthen our faith walk with Jesus. Crucially, there are also dire warnings in every chapter and John Chapter 8 has a warning for us too; listen now;

John 8:23-24 (NIV) But he continued, “You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world.

24¬† I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am the one I claim to be, you will indeed die in your sins.”

Jesus said, “I AM the light of the World” The Revelation.

Jesus said, “You will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life” The Promise.

Jesus said, “If you do not believe in ME, you will indeed die in your sins” The Warning.

Man’s Greatest Need:

Is to discover that he’s in DARKNESS and NEEDS the LIGHT of the WORLD (Jesus Christ).

Man’s Greatest DANGER:

“To die in your sins”….

Satan’s Greatest Deception:

If we were to die in our sins, we would be going to the Judgement Day like this; Everybody that I’ve ever met, who’s in the Darkness, thinks they are ‘good enough’ to get into heaven. (That’s Satan’s most brilliant deception). They’ve been convinced first, that God is ‘good’ and ‘loving’ and ‘kind’. He’ll never send anyone to Hell, because a God of LOVE would never do anything as evil as sending someone to Hell, right? No my friends, Satan has deceived you and most of mankind into believing that God will not do that.

We’re going to Judgement Day: To appear before the Lord Jesus Christ (He’s the Judge); What are we trusting that will enable us to get into heaven on that day?

Our own Idolatrous God (one we’ve made that suits ourselves), He’ll not send us to hell. That’s a fiction, false notion and false foolish belief system.

Our own Goodness: Most people believe they are not that bad, that they’ve not done that much wrong, that they are good enough to get into heaven.

Our own Good Works: Most people on earth today believe that their ‘good deeds’ will earn them a place in Heaven. “Oh yes, I’ve done wrong, I’ve broken God’s commandments, but I’ve also done a lot of ‘good’ things too, surely God will look at my life and see that I’ve done far more good than evil” That’s what people in Darkness say and that’s what they believe.

No wonder Jesus gave us such a dire WARNING; “If you don’t believe in me, you will indeed die in your sins”… People in Darkness rely on themselves and false notions of God’s goodness, they don’t think that their sins are that bad, so they are prepared to risk it, prepared to go to God with their sins still on them, and justify themselves and plead their cause themselves.

It’s like going into the Highest Court in the Land and saying, “I don’t need a QC (Queen’s Council Lawyer / Advocate) I’ll represent myself”. How Foolish, the Prosecution would tear you to pieces.

We are all going into the Courtroom of Heaven one Day; We’ll stand charged with breaking God’s Moral LAWS and we’ll all be GUILTY even before we speak, because we’ve all broken God’s eternal LAWS (The Ten Commandments).

When Jesus said, “You will indeed die in your sins”, that’s what we will be doing. Self-Representation before a Holy and Righteous God. We’ll have the most brilliant Prosecution Council ever: They know we’re guilty and can prove it beyond a shadow of a doubt. We’ve ALL Broken God’s Holy Law. (Lying, stealing, cheating, coveting, lust (adultery), not keeping the Sabbath Holy, making a God to suit ourselves (Idolatry), not living God first and with all our heart.).

That’s what it’s like to live and walk in the Darkness. We’re fooled into thinking we’re OK. We’ll be judged by a holy and righteous God. What’s it like walking in the light?

The People Walking in the Light:

Isaiah 9:2-3 (NIV) “The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned. 3¬† You have enlarged the nation and increased their joy; they rejoice before you as people rejoice at the harvest, as men rejoice when dividing the plunder.”

However, those people who’ve come into the light of Christ, who’ve believed, trusted and received Jesus Christ, are not walking in that Darkness anymore, they have been enlightened. They’ve seen that they are indeed sinners, they’ve broken God’s moral laws and deserve to die, they deserve God’s punishment for all their sins = Hell forever, but they’ve TRUSTED that Jesus Christ died upon the CROSS for their sins, they can now see much more clearly than ever before, their need for Jesus Christ. They now know that wonderful promise of Jesus; “You shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life”… They’ve got the light of life, they are living daily in that light and following Jesus Christ.

When people who’ve believed that Jesus is the LIGHT of the World appear before the Judgement seat of Christ, they know they’ll have not a QC but a KC… They’ll have the King himself as their own personal counsellor, they’ve already passed from Judgement into LIFE. They’ve been Judged already, because they’ve Accepted Jesus words, they know and believe that He is the Light of the World. They will never walk in darkness again, not for all eternity. They’ll be in the LIGHT of HEAVEN.

The only things they’ll be appearing at the Judgement Seat of Christ for are not for Judgement for Salvation; but for Promises of Rewards in Heaven. He’ll look at our walk since we’ve trusted in Him, and He’ll either reward us greatly in Heaven for all eternity or we’ll suffer some loss, but we’ll still be in Heaven. (How have you been investing in Heaven? Have you been storing up treasures here on Earth or are you investing in your Eternal Destiny?).

Oh how Glorious to be in the Light of Christ: We’ll know why were here in earth, we’ll discover our purpose in life, we’ll know what’s on the other side of this life on earth = Heaven forever. We’ll discover what life is all about when we’ve got Jesus, the Light of the World living on the inside of us. Have you got the LIGHT of the WORLD yet? Is He in you? Are you walking in the Light?

Mankind’s Greatest Need:

Is to see the light of Christ and to walk in the light. Is only met when we wake them up in the Darkness.

How can we do that?

If you saw a BLIND Man walking towards the edge of the cliff top at Beachy Head, would you sit there on the grass enjoying your picnic with the family and just let him slowly walk to his certain death? NO! Would you just sit a back and chomp on another sandwich and drink your juice as he slowly stumbled close to the edge? NO! Would you shout out to him; “Blind man, your heading towards a cliff edge” No! You get up, you’d throw your sandwich down, you run up to him and grab him and warn him, you shake him up in order to save his life.

My friends, countless millions of people are like that poor blind man, walking in darkness, walking towards certain death, they are all going to die in their sins, they are going to the judgement of Christ and they are going to go to Hell, because of their sins. Will we just sit back and enjoy the fact that we’re saved, that we’re OK that we’re going to Heaven? NO! If there is any compassion in us at all, we’ll be moved to shake them up, to open their blind eyes and let them see the light of Jesus Christ.

How, How can we open the eyes of people born in Darkness?

It’s the Gospel of Jesus Christ that can open their eyes and let them see the light.

But Satan had done a great job, he’s blinded the eyes of people, so that they can’t see:

2 Corinthians 4:4 (NIV) “The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.”

Jesus IS; ‘The LIGHT of the WORLD’ but the world cannot see the LIGHT because they’ve been blinded, blinded from birth, they are in total darkness and headed for a great fall. They need to be stopped in their tracks.

As you share the GOSPEL, it’s the Good News of Jesus Christ; listen now; Romans 1:16 (NIV) “I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.”

It’s the Gospel that IS the POWER of God to Salvation: People walking in DARKNESS can have their eyes opened, they can see the light of life, that Jesus Christ is the Light of the World, when we SHARE the GOSPEL with them.

Their GREATEST NEED can be met when you share the GOSPEL.

How do we do that?

Firstly, those of us who’ve seen the light, who’re walking in the light, must let the LIGHT shine in the darkness.

Matthew 5:14-16 (NIV)

14¬† “You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.

15  Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.

16  In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

You’ve believed and trusted that Jesus Christ IS the Light of the World. You are not walking in the Darkness anymore, you have the light of life, so now you must ; “Let the light that is in you shine.” Jesus is in YOU, let Him shine His light on the lives of others who’re walking in Darkness. How? by your good deeds.

Secondly, Share the Gospel, the Good News of Jesus Christ; How he lived, how he died, why he died, how He’s come back from the dead and is now in Heaven, How he’s coming back one day to Judge all mankind. How people need to be SAVED by Jesus Christ. What His death upon the Cross was for; for our sins. How we can have all our sins washed away. How we can pass from Darkness into the Light, by trusting in Jesus, by receiving Jesus, by believing in Jesus Christ; THE LIGHT of the WORLD.

In that way, you’ll be shaking the blind man walking to certain death over the cliff edge of death and dying in their sins.

I’d like to end by reviewing this sermon today;

People’s Greatest NEED is to see the LIGHT (Jesus IS the LIGHT of the World). Revelation.

God’s Greatest Promises: “You will not walk in DARKNESS, but will have the LIGHT of LIFE.”

God’s Greatest and MOST DIRE Warning: If people don’t accept the LIGHT they’ll die in their sins and face the judgement.

God’s Greatest Challenge: “Let your LIGHT Shine” “Share the GOSPEL”.

My friends, have you;

believed that Jesus is THE LIGHT of the WORLD?

are you walking in His Light right now?

Will you let your light shine and will you share the Gospel?

People are blind, heading for eternity still in their sins, have compassion and open their eyes. Amen.

God bless and keep you walking in the light, when you find you’ve been wandering in the darkness, repent and seek His forgiveness and continue in His light again. Let the light shine today and share His Good NEWS of the GOSPEL with those He puts across your path. They need to be snatched from the flames of Hell.
